Also, Dave Toub is going to get a HC gig this off-season. Hell, it might be the Bears job if Lovie Smith messes up.

Awesome special teams coach of the Bears. A big reason why our special teams is always one of the top units in the NFL. Other teams will take our former special teamers and have them try to teach it to their special teams like the Vikings did with Zach Bowman.

He got interviewed for the Jacksonville job last offseason I recall. After that, we gave him a big new contract (by ST coach standards at least) hoping to keep him around.

Miami interviewed him too, he actually reportedly finished 3rd behind Philbin and Mike McCoy for the job.

Anyways, Ray Horton and Jay Gruden are the top 2 assistants right now to get head coaching positions.

I remember reading an article sometime last year on the success that John Harbaugh has had as a HC and how that might lead to more special teams coaches to get interviews for head coaching positions. Dave Toub is the first person who came to mind for me. I know he's loved by the players in Chicago and he's extremely well thought of around the NFL, I'm curious to see how much interest there is once people start getting the axe.

I know first hand that Sheridan is garbage but Schiano is a classic micromanager. You can't blame Sheridan without putting the blame on Schiano also.

Agree and disagree. Lets see how they call this weeks game. Might be too hard yes but Sheridan is pulling the same garbage that got him fired in NYG

well Kacy Rodgers has been a very good DL coach while in Miami and I think he deserves a chance to run a defense.

This team is infected with Norvitis! Norvitis is a debilitating disease, but we have learned so much about Norvitis over the last 5 Years. Here is the update:

Unfortunately there is no cure for Norvitis although it is treatable. Norvitis is caused by continual high stress environments which leads to a weak spine ownership to abruptly replace a 14-2 head coach with this known carrier of Norvitis. Norvitis excretes a virus that quickly migrates into the heart of a football team. Once infected, the entire organization is prone to its effect of Norvacain.
Pronunciation: NOR-VA-CAIN

Norvacain has a very similar effect as Novacain. It is fast acting motivation inhibitor that blocks the body’s ability to stay motivated for more than two quarters of football. Its compounding effects then leads to undisciplined, passive, unmotivated play, lack of focus and intensity, fatigue, playing under players potential, demise of leadership, breakdown of the team unit, loss of team character, emotionless and unprepared game planning, becoming injury prone.

Team Captains will attempt to call team meetings in an effort to bolster the troops in an effort to ward off this invasion, however, continued exposure to the Norvacain effect soon proves fatal to the Team chemistry and players frustration soon begin to fester.

The long term effect is that usually one season of Norvacain could potentially be dangerous to the health of the team by disabling the team for the duration of any football Championship window.

Early warning signs are slow starts at the beginning of the season, complete breakdown of one or more playing units lasting more than six games before appropriate action is taken, horrendous preseasons, numerous TV Black-outs, quick exiting of Probowl caliber players, and the firing of scapegoat coaches!

Fans are also at risk of exposure by literally watching their team transition from being a perennial Championship team to a team best remembered for playing at a Chula Vista Waterpark, and losing to the Broncos 35-24. Fans infected with Norvitis will experience different Norvacated side affects such as:

Loss of Appetite, Using Alcohol or other self medications to dull the pain, high blood Pressure, breathing problems; chest pain; frustration, depression lasting days to lasting for multiple seasons. Fans soon become delusional as well by thoughts that even with Norvitis, there is still possibilities of overcoming this virus and be very productive in the play-offs, or that perhaps the virus will dissipate over time.

Historically, several teams were able to overcome this disease by a radical procedure known as Norvcolostomy! This invasive procedure reroutes the NorvTVirus carrier from the team premises. Unfortunately it is a very costly procedure that in most cases is outside the financial commitments of the ownership. Those ownership who choose to decline this procedure are relying on a delusional fan base to continue to support them with their hard earned dollars! Unfortunately in most cases this just leads to many more Black-outs, and boycotts until the virus is removed.

Holmgren Could Return to Coaching With the Right Opportunity

Okay..."Mike Holmgren, Head Coach of the LA Chargers" seems like the type of thing that's just destined to happen, in so many ways.

EDIT: I just watched that video and Florio also thought of the Chargers. Dammit, I always feel wrong when I agree with Florio.

I think the Bears found a secret formula. Have coordinators who no one in their right minds would hire as head coach but are pretty decent coordinators.

Also, I appreciate the no Dave Toub on your list. Out of sight, out of mind.

I find it hard to believe Mike Sherman is gonna be up for another HC job anytime soon...

I don't know, he was a good head coach in Green Bay and has built a respectable offense against most expectations.

And isn't Gregg Williams suspended indefinitely? Doubt he finds an NFL job, even as a DC, soon.

He could always go the college route, and would be a slam dunk hire as a DC anywhere. They'd probably have to deal with a lot of negative recruiting regarding "Bountygate," but he's still a great DC and kids would love to play in his scheme.

Do you have an ADHD need to make lists? Cause I do.

It may be controversial, but the NFL is based on merit, not character. Teams will always ignore whatever they believe is extraneous to winning. See: Vick, Michael.

I guess it's more of a compulsion than an ADHD need. I doubt being hyperactive would be conducive to focusing on one thing. But yes.
