Good year, Giants!!! Congrats to all the Giant fans here.
People say AL>>>>>>>>>>NL, but the NL has won three straight WS and kicked the living **** out of the AL in the ASG.

Are the O's going to keep Machado at 3B or move him back to SS? If so, what are they going to do with Hardy?
With the surgery for Brian McCann, could be be had for a little discount for teams? Maybe in the 7-8 million a year range?

Machado stays at 3B for sure but if Orioles managed to find a good 3B then Machado could presumably be going to SS and Hardy to 2B.
I hear McCann won't be able to play next season. I would love to check him out as a hitter if his surgical shoulder does not affect swinging bat.
Grady Sizemore got 2.5 m for not playing a single game so I don't see McCann will get more than that.

This Wednesday is the day Rafael Soriano makes a decision on opt out option. His agent is freaking Scott Boras. The option is 14m but the buyout is 1.5m.
So which team will want a closer for 12.5m or more? Twins, Brewers, Astros?

I heard someone talking last week that the Blue Jays were looking in to Hardy's availability because the thought was the Orioles would be willing to move him to make room for Machado to play SS. I haven't heard anything since then, and could just be some fabricated rumor, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Orioles at least listening to offers for Hardy.

The Brewers will likely move forward with Axford as closer to begin next season...they obviously want to improve their bullpen but I don't see them investing such high figures on one bullpen arm

Living in Baltimore and really getting to watch Manny, you can tell he could play both positions and though Hardy has had a down year he is a good utility guy to have and he can be upgraded but not sure we make moves like that besides maybe 1st basemen depending on Reynolds.

The Orioles aren't going to do anything. Machado plays 3B and Hardy is the SS. There is no plans to change that, no plans to move on from Hardy.

Brian McCann is off the table. Braves exercise 12 m option on him instead of settling down with a measly 500 k buyout. Braves have been stupid until McCann makes a miraculous comeback in 2013.

Listening to Kruk's reasoning for it was so bad. Just said Trout wasn't as consistent as Jones, which basically translates to him saying he didn't see more than maybe a couple Angel games this year
then they all just say Trout will win many gold gloves in his career to somehow justify the terrible selection of Jones over him. This isn't bashing JOnes, I like him, but you don't even need to look at advanced defensive metrics to know that Trout was better in the field than Jones was. That is something you can easily assess with just the eye test
Oh well, I guess Trout not winning it this year will be made up for when he wins it every year when he's in his mid 30's and clearly not that good in the field anymore(just wins it on reputation) so it will all even out in the end. Or soemthing.

I'll bash Jones: he's average at best defensively. Trout or Austin Jackson should have won it. And Bourn shouldn't have lost in the NL to McCutchen, either.
