I'm psyched for it. They can release a new trilogy and then make KOTOR or Force Unleashed type of movies.

Walt Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced in a shareholder conference call that the studio also plans to release Episode VIII and Episode IX. “Our longterm plan is to release a new Star Wars feature film every two to three years,” he added, noting that the deal came with “an extensive and detailed treatment for the next three movies.”
The deal also includes plans to incorporate Star Wars into Disney’s TV, parks, and games businesses, as well as acquisition of Lucas’ companies like Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound, and Skywalker Ranch. Standing distribution deals with Fox and Paramount will play a factor for Disney in monetizing the previous six Star Wars films and last four Indiana Jones films, respectively.

They need to set a new trilogy in real time. Let it take place 32 years after RotJ. They can have cameos from Luke, Han, Chewie, and the droids, but I don't want them to be stars. I don't think I want to see fat Leia either, she went out at her peak. Lets do completely new stars and follow the Avengers type of casting. Chris Evans, Hemsworth, and RDJr type of people and revive/jumpstart their careers.
They would have to have a Jedi at the center of the plot and some kind of Sith as the ticket selling badass. They need newly designed ships, technology, and a few new planets. Throw in some huge space battles, random hot princess, a hot starfighter pilot chick, and a militaristic/smuggler dude, maybe an alien, and boom...multibillion dollar trilogy.
Also...Drew Karpyshyn retired from Bioware in February...I think Disney should give him a call. He only wrote Mass Effect and the original Knights of the Old Republic.

The good KOTOR was made by Bioware, who is now owned by EA. Don't hold your breath for another good KOTOR game ever existing.

EA is the ******* devil of video game enterprises.
Also there is a 100% chance this movie will suck.

Not at all 100%
Pixar, Marvel, and Muppets, Disney has a great track record of acquiring major brand names and turning them into gold.

Your logic is flawed. George Lucas's kids and their influence on him turned him into an even bigger sissy than Disney produced movies. Star Wars achieved its greatest success when Kirshner, who was Lucas' professor, directed Empire Strikes Back. Also, all of its best moments were ad-libs from Harrison Ford. Now that Lucas is out of the driver's seat, there is potential for Star Wars to take a page from Star Trek and ramp up the action.
And Disney is very market-aware. They will demand to have a Vader or Maul like character and a plot that will test well with audiences. It will be a popcorn movie and Lucas won't be there to screw it up. He's passing the torch to better men.

Lucas may be a talentless hack, but man does he know how to squeeze every penny he can out of his few good ideas.

This is good to know.
And a Star Wars movie written/directed by Whedon makes me highly aroused. Has he worked with Disney/ABC before in any capacity?

He wrote/directed Avengers, which is Marvel, which is owned by Disney.

Damn. I wish Lucas sold his company to Disney 15 years ago.
It will require 13 or 14 James Cameron-like gross profitable film to barely pay off 4 billion plus million.
Star Wars, Indiana Jones and ?
George Lucas is the lucky bastard in the world.

Movies arent even remotely close to the only thing they'll make money off of though.
And besides, $4B is nothing, Disney paid $7B for Pixar.

I think this calls for some lists.
Director/Controlling Hand
Joss is a good choice.
Christopher Nolan...although he's probably busy and will help make sure they don't screw up Superman and probably with JLA too.
Guillermo del Toro? He has experience blending digital special effects and controlling Sci-Fi subject matter with class.
Sam Raimi...if scheduling with Evil Dead allows.
David Yates of Harry Potter fame. Again, proven experience with green screens and special effects with giant budgets.
Actors/Actresses
Whatever hot British chick they can get to be a princess or rebel leader.
I'm going to go with the Three Musketeers(2011 bomb) duo of Luke Evans and Logan Lerman as Jedi Master and padawan that is close to being a Jedi Knight. The only reason is that they can sword fight and Luke is high quality but not a breakout expensive tentpole star yet.
Rachael Taylor can probably be in it.
Liam Hemsworth doesn't have a career-defining role yet, so he might get a shot.
Throw in Idris Elba and we got a movie.

God dammit, George Lucas has now sold out twice. That useless bastard just had to go and milk it for all it was worth. No good will come of this. There will be 9000 Star Wars movies, TV shows, video games...It's just going to cheapen it. DAMN YOU LUCAS!

I'd be shocked if Lucas didn't get something out of the sale that says he will always have a strong creative influence in anything star wars until he dies so I don't think we'll be rid of him altogether. That being said, hopefully new writers will help spice up the dialogue some.
