So, a brewery opened up here in Dallas that is quite good: http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/27403
Recently they started bottling beer instead of just being on tap everywhere. Today's selection:

Don't care, my goal isn't to find the world's rarest beer with the ugliest label. Tastes good to me and it isn't the normal piss I drink to get drunk. I'm happy.

I might go after some of the rarer stuff, but the selection in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is not the best.

I just picked up three bottles of Surly Darkness 2012.... I'm looking to trying one tonight and holding onto the other two for either trades or special occasions (basically an reliable excuse to age them).

Am I the only one who views Sam Adams as fake beer drinkers beer? I'm not saying they're all bad, I actually like Fat Jack, but the image they try to create of themselves seems like ******* ******** to me.

Yeah after reading about the Mad Elf that's my concern, the 11% was the other thing that sold the deal for me. Hyped for the Stone IPA though.
Trying to get into scotch too, I've had it before out but never got a bottle for home before. Went with Glenfiddich which I think you (but maybe someone else) had recommended in the liquor thread, so I'm excited about that also.

Glenfiddich and Glenlivet are both great choices as a starter scotch.

Has anyone tried the Shiner winter seasonal, the Wasatch winter, or Narwhal imperial stout? Thoughts?
