Johnny "Football" Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
He runs like... like I don't even know. His arm is good too. Need to see more.
I have a feeling the ALABAMA game might put him on IMMEDIATE household name/2013 Heisman front-runner level.
But let's discuss him as an NFL QB (or something else) prospect.
OK go.

Looks like more an athlete at this point but if Russell Wilson can be a QB then why not.

Let's not talk about him. Way too early for someone who's probably 6'0 at best.

Has a team every replaced a top 10 pick QB with someone who was immediately a bigger impact player? Not a knock on Tannehill who is playing great but Manziel is unbelievable.
But he is short so move him to WR. Look at his numbers, he clearly isn't a QB. Reminds me of Joe Jurevicius/Wes Welker/Jason Sehorn.

I agree he is an amazing player. But Joe Jurevicious was like 6'5.
Denard Robinson wishes he was Johnny Football

Love the kid but I truly think he is in for a very very rude awakening this Saturday.

And Jason Sehorn was a CB, I wasn't serious. Johnny Football is the truth.

I think he will hold his own. He already played LSU so that was a nice test to get him acclimated to the speed and talent of an elite defense. He also has two beast OTs to protect him.
I think Saban and Co. are having some long nights trying to game plan for him. This should be a great game either way it turns out.

To say that is to ignore the new coaching staff and the amount of senior talent on this team.
As one of like two A&M grads on this whole forum, I'd argue that my grasp of this team is pretty good.

I know A&M had some absurd amount of drops last season and the team itself was not as good as it is this year, but you could definitely argue it. You could make a case that Manziel is the most dangerous player in college football. Tannehill had some chaos around him and I'm not knocking him, more recognizing how ridiculous Manziel has been.

Fuller was the main drop culprit that I recall. Swope is a legit target and Mike Evans has been a stud as a freshman for A&M this year.
Swope is actually really underrated - should be a 2nd - 3rd round pick - no one talks about him.

He ain't Johnny ****ing Football against a defense like LSU's, that's for damn sure. He could barely complete 50% of his passes and threw 3 INT's... no TD's. Held to about 1.5 YPC and had 17 of 'em.
He'll need more than a catchy nickname to save his ass come Saturday in Bryant-Denny...

He actually has more than a catchy nickname - a really good skill set and a ton of talent. After your post I really hope A&M pulls the upset. He also kept them in the game vs LSU. It wasn't a blowout.

Kid has juice, I'll give him that.
He makes you want to watch ALL of A&M's games.
He's a playmaker and at this early date who's to say he doesn't have pro upside at QB??

Now I know who's running style he reminds me of, that clumsy wobbly speed just like Doug flutie. Just doesn't have the arm like Doug
