D's starting lineup is really weird. I can buy Westbrook at the 2, but Lillard and Leonard starting over Jennings and AK-47 is ridiculous. Even if Jennings and Westbrook wouldn't work (it wouldn't), it's far better than Westbrook ******** all over a young PG all game and taking the ball out of his hands.

Scotty on the other hand has massive issues at SG imo. I have no faith in Eric Gordon and he should've at least gotten a better backup than JJ Reddick. I don't like starting Favors either, especially this year.

I give it to Scotty in the end because he has the best player in Dwight and I love the pick and roll possibilities with Lawson.

Lillard and Lawson are even to me for 3 years. Westbrook is better than Gordon. Cool is better than Kawhi/AK. LA is much better than Favors. And Dwight is clearly better than Horford. I feel like I have way fewer questions about D's bench and I'm a Blazer backer. D wins this one even though I had Scotty ranked as a top 3 team.

It was tough to set a starting line up because I think it would be different in Year 1 versus Year 3, so I just went with Lillard because I think over the next 3 years he will become a superstar. Same logic with Leonard... best player over a 3 year span. He hasn't really broken out yet, but I think he will. In year 1, I probably would mostly start AK47.

I liked Jennings on the second team for a couple of reasons... One, the second unit wouldn't skip a beat, two, I he would be able to come in as a 6th man, and there would be less restrictions on him as a scorer which I think is one of his strong suits. In that role, I would let him score as he wishes. Where as on the first team, I would expect him to be a better facilitator and play less selfishly (which wouldn't be getting the most out of him). Overall, between my starters and bench, I wanted to make sure they would work as a TEAM cohesively and not get in each others way. Sometimes, I passed on better talent because I didn't think they'd fit with the team I was building. I tried to balance out their strengths and weaknesses and project how they would play well together. I also tried not to get players who were strictly one trick wonders, like 3 point specialists who don't have well rounded games or defensive stoppers who don't get involved on offense, etc etc. I wanted to get players who I could were well rounded, that I could put in the game and especially not be defensive liabilities.

Dwight's pick and role wouldn't be so easy having to face combinations of Aldridge, Horford, Jordan and Drummond. Also, Dwight's pick and role versatility is limited because he doesn't have a soft touch and he doesn't have good footwork/dribble skills to move around in the post. He is limited to catching alley's for dunks, but I think I have the length to defend or depth to keep fouling him.

I just love Lawson. Dwight's still the best center in the game. Lawson's speed to beat defenders and draw them with the drive and dish to Dwight is deadly. Not to mention the athleticism with Rudy Cool. Man, him and Ty on a fast break would be deadly. Ty, Rudy, Favors and Dwight are all super defenders as well.

I think Gordon will be fine down the road health wise and Favors is already coming into his own. If not, I've got proven starters in Gortat and Patterson on the bench, Green as a swing forward, and Reddick and Brooks can both get it done scoring wise off the bench. Could even use 2 PG sets with Ty and Collison, although that could hurt defensively.

I agree with you in a lot of the above and I think Favors will be a viable starter a year or two. I vehemently disagree with you on Gordon though. 78, 62, 56, 9 - games played by year for Gordon. He is ridiculously injury prone and your backup stinks. I have to factor in that you will be playing ~40% of your games with JJ as a starter.....that's just not good anyway you slice it.

I voted for you and like your team, I just think you are glossing over a major hole by assuming Gordon is going to be fine.

I probably should've listed MarShon as the first backup. If gordon were to be down I'd likely start Brooks over him. I like JJ as a spaark plug and shooter off the bench. And I believe marShon could/would be a viable starting option this year and especially years 2 and 3
