This Mercury song by Moon Taxi has taken over my life. this tune is just...Its like the Pixies met Modest Mouse and produced something that dwarfs the latter. That said, I will never sleep and EATW will ruin this thread with good taste.

I came by to leave this little beauty here and I'm going to have to check out a few vids posted in the previous page, they really grabbed my attention. Anyway, if you are a fan of that bluesy rock, check out Hanni El Khatib. I think it might've been DG who posted one of his videos before, but I've been hearing his songs on commercials quite a bit recently and finally decided to look further into his music and I dig it a lot, more and more as I listen, so check out his KEXP performance if you're interested.

I definitely pick up on a lot of those vibes, but the thing about Moon Taxi is their sound varies so much from song to song, and I dig that a lot. But Mercury is just downright unreal, seeing it live is something borderline outrageous. Anyway, glad you like them and this song so much, and thanks for the compliment on my taste, though I still feel indebted to you for hooking me on Bon Iver.
I'm going to have the privilege of seeing Mumford and Dawes BOTH nights in Camden. Considering how many people who weren't able to get tickets for either night, I feel so lucky being able to see my favorite band and another one of my top favorite bands two nights in a row. Those are going to be two very special nights for me.
Also, Roo announced pre-sale starts on the 26th at noon, which means by 12:01 they'll all be gone, so if your interested in getting tickets for Roo as cheap as possible, your going to have to be on your game, and be prepared to have to wait until after the lineup is announced before you'll have another opportunity to buy tickets, which should be sometime in February, IIRC.

Hobbes, if I didn't greatly respect most of your musical opinions, fisticuffs would be necessary. But I understand that its ok for you not to like them, I'll just have the opinion you're missing out, and you still probably won't care, lol.

Working the night shift tonight, so I was doing some random thinking. Thinking about, without repeating artists, my favorite songs to see/have seen live. In true Rob Fleming fashion, here's a quick top five that, somehow, does not feature any Converge or anything off of Reinventing Axl Rose:
5. Leftover Crack - "Gang Control"
Oh, high school. The beautiful, beautiful punk years. Going to shows at the same venue every weekend with the same group of people, seeing bands like The Unseen and, if you were lucky, Leftover Crack. Endless circling, yelling, and being purposefully disgusting/ignorant. Such were the days, and they were a riot. Be it the band itself or a friend covering them (which they all did), this song and its yell-along chorus was always a highlight of the night.
4. Mighty Mighty Bosstones - "Lights Out"
By the time you're hearing this brief song, you have undoubtedly been skanking for well over an hour with ska fans of all ages. The mad minute is just a rush of pure adrenaline driven by a gritty hardcore cover that caps off a fantastic set by one of my all-time favorites.
3. Refused - "Worms of the Senses/Faculties of the Skull"
- Fourteen years in waiting, a show I only dreamed of seeing and traveled across the country to make sure I did. The electrifying opening line blared out to kick off the set, just as it does for one of the best albums ever made, and there was just nonstop chaos from that point on. Unreal.
2. Bouncing Souls - "Manthem"
This is my kind of place, this is my kind of crowd. There is no such thing as a disappointing Souls show. Amazing sets, amazing crowds. This is basically a guaranteed play that everybody loves and jovially flips out to, and gives you your fill of "Oi!"
1. The Movielife - Jamestown
Another one that gets huge points for being part of a reunion show. They were playing at a side stage at a festival, but it was obvious to anybody in that crowd that everyone watching/thrashing was there for this band. One of their best known and most beloved songs, I don't think I have ever or will ever again reach such hops. Best crowd of strangers I ever expect to encounter.

Others that could be considered:
Catch-22 - 1234 1234
Against Me! - Reinventing Axl Rose
Converge - Concubine
The Gaslight Anthem - Senor and the Queen
Rise Against - they should be here, somewhere. Saw them so often 5-10 years ago. Black Masks and Gasoline, Give it All, Prayer of the Refugee. Those songs were always fun.
I've been a big Wolf Parade kick recently which led me to check out Divine Fits and Swan Lake (both of which are labelled as indie supergroups on wiki). A Thing Called Divine Fits is now one of my favorite albums from 2012.
sorry if someone already posted about them. work has seriously reduced my swdc time
This is mostly for Wooty, but for everyone else as well, but Ben Howard's new EP, The Burgh Island, is four incredible songs. Woot, if you haven't already, give it a listen, that goes for errrybody.

Ya that Divine Fits album is pretty sexy. Was trying to figure out the band name for the longest time thanks for bringing that up after hearing them perform an acoustic set on the radio. Gonna check out Wolf Parade now too.
Youtube "Bright Light Social Hour", I saw them a few weeks ago and they are incredible... Also check out Dawes, they have a song I'm really hooked on right now called "Fire Away" that I really, really, REALLY like. All of Dawes is incredible really, so if you dig that, look into more of their stuff as well.
