While I agree that Tebow is terrible, I really feel bad for him. He didn't deserve this **** from the rest of the guys.

well it doesn't really make any sense to have Sanchez go up against the Steelers, 49ers, Texans & Seattle and have Tebow come in to save the day against Jacksonville, Tennesse, San Diego etc.

This thread is ******* hilarious. Arguing over who is worse between Tebow and Sanchez and how much that organization sucks. I love it.

I'm just scared the Jets will suck badly enough to get Jarvis Jones.

While in Denver, Tebow was significantly worse in practice than during games - and y'all saw him during actual games, right?
You cant judge Tebow during practice, because he isnt allowed to truck defensive backs in practice (sup Revis).

tebow is not an nfl quarterback and the sooner the entire nfl fanbase and media appartus figures that out, the better off everyone will be.

Mad respect for Shonn Greene
Quote:
|
Shonn Greene believes "something's got to change" at the quarterback position, and it's time to "see if somebody else can do it." "You feel bad for Mark (Sanchez), but at the same time you want to win games. We're not here to protect people's feelings... If somebody's not getting the job done, you see if somebody else can do it. It's the same with coaching, or any position. You don't mean to belittle someone or say 'he sucks.' That's just the harsh reality," said Greene. This comes on the heels of an anonymous Jets player saying Tim Tebow is "terrible." There's a clear divide in the locker room, and it's obvious Greene thinks Sanchez is the terrible one. Players can think what they want, but things aren't expected to change any time in the immediate future. Sanchez will start in Week 11 against the Rams.

I have more respect for Greene saying something like this because a). he didn't throw Sanchez under the bus, b). he put his name to the comment, and c). because he said it's not just the QB position but everyone in the organisation.
However, it's not like he is this stud RB who doesn't need to worry about his own job. I really think the Jets would be better served if they all just shut the **** up

Rams and Jets game will be interesting. Shotty is the OC of the Rams. They placed the blame on him for the offense and now he is gone the offense is still bad. That's what I wanted to see. I remember when we fired Hufangel things got better for Eli. I waited to see how The Sanchize would do and still things seemed to haven't changed at all.

It's gotta feel good to be a Denver fan. You have John Elway running the show, he got rid of the circus that is Tim Tebow and already saw bad things coming next year even with beating the Steelers in the playoffs, and in the midst of all that brought in Peyton Manning. Couldn't have gone much better.
It's also hilarious to hear how bad Tebow is in practice, as if that was anything new in Denver. What type of scouting did they actually do before trading for Tebow? Tannebaum claims it wasn't Woody and it was him who made the call, which should be embarrassing to say the least because that was the worst kept secret in the world.
Everything that has happened since bringing Tebow in, you could have written out like a book and it would have went literally exactly the way everything has gone, but it's hilarious that they all act like this is a huge surprise.

oh, absolutely. we went from the darkest depths of football hell (thanks for the 'coaching' and 'gm-ing', mcdaniels) to suddenly looking like a pretty decent team in two years.

see, the owner grabbing tebow i get. he's headlines and media attention, and money (ultimately). it'd be hard to blame any owner for wanting him after the steelers game. but any decent GM/coach should've known exactly what they were getting. it's unfathomable to me that a GM would actively make that trade without instruction from the owner, and if it happened, it's just a not-so-subtle reminder that some of these guys aren't actually all that smart.

First thing I thought when I read the quote too.
The Jets are an absolute disaster. Not enough talent, the locker room is a mess, and the GM is awful. He's done an absolutely terrible job putting teams together (not to mention drafting) and it's just gotten worse and worse. They need to almost completely overhaul, and it's going to take a few years until they're even semi-competitive again. Lots of high draft picks in the future.

Put Tebow back there...I don't see why he couldn't contribute in that regard. He actually put up better numbers at the combine except in the Broad Jump and 40 than Shon Greene. Tebow has bulked up as well. I think he would run harder and be more punishing than Shonn Greene to be honest.

Is there any job on the Jets offense that is safe outside of Mangold, D'Brick, and maybe Keller? Blow it up, all of it. Top to bottom.

Tebow also voted and determined the rest of the Jets suck, too.

Eh, people always assume that being a RB means you get the ball and simply run to the hole. Greene's biggest issue is he is a straightline runner with below par vision, with less than ideal speed and very little wiggle. Nothing I have seen from Tebow tells me he would be any different

Keller's a FA and he's kind of up in the air, probably depends on who the OC is next year and whether or not they want to use a move TE, plus Keller's contract demands. Other than that, Kerley is a nice slot receiver. That's it. Both guards are FA's, RT has been a hole for awhile. Holmes will stick around and start because of his contract and talent and they'll keep developing Hill, but he's far from a lock to start.
The tough thing is they also need four new starters on defense, two OLB's (one starter is a FA and the other is getting cut) and two safeties (both starters are FA's). Defensive line, corners, and ILB's should stay intact (with Scott gone and Davis taking his place, he's already taking over) but there's a lot that needs to be fixed.

Ok, I know I'm in the minority on this but hear me out.
Why NOT start Tebow? I get it. He sucks at throwing the ball. He completes 50% of his passes, runs a gimmicky offense, and can't read defenses.
But it's not like we're saying bench Peyton Manning for the guy. We're saying bench Mark freakin Sanchez.
Sanchez is completing 50% of his passes, can't read defenses, and because he sucks at understanding coverages, runs a simple offense.
So what the hell is the difference? Neither can read a defense, a blitz, adjust protections, or audible. Neither can throw accurately.
The only difference between them is Tebow can run, and Tebow can through deep.
So why not start the guy? Sanchez is awful. Tebow at the very worst, is equally bad.

tebow can't throw deep, is not capable of running the jets standard offense (so unless they've spent some time creating a new offense for him like Denver did, they're screwed) and further, sets the precedent that the media decides who the jets starting qb is. which is reason #324124234 that no team should ever keep him on the roster.

Oh I completely agree that the Jets would be a better team starting Tebow than Sanchez. Tebow is a ****** passer who can run and make plays. Sanchez is just a slightly less ****** passer.
But they are 3-6. They'd have to win 6 of their last 7 to have a chance, and that's not going to happen no matter who's at QB. Do you really want risk dropping your draft position, AND getting your idiot fan base on the Tebow train
Let Sanchez suck it out the rest of the season and then you draft a QB and get rid of both Sanchez and Tebow.
