There was a reason Falcon fans were devastated that Charles Johnson didn't hit the market. And it's more than just because he went back to a division rival.

How has Charles Johnson done since that time? The first thing I thought of after he got cut was how Johnson had been doing since he was obviously target #1. I also didn't see Edwards sucking this massively, so I can't really fault them all that much. Falcons really better work on getting that D-line some young talent to build around, maybe Glenn Dorsey finally happens?

According to Blindsite, Charles Johnson is a top 5 player in the NFL regardless of position.
Sometimes I wonder what it's like to be that big of homer...I can't even wrap my head around it.

Ha. I always love asking Blindsite about any Panthers player. The response is always enjoyable.

In fairness, most Rutgers players have been pretty good.

See, there's "pretty good" like, "Scotty wants to have the children of Ray Rice" and then there is delusional, like Blindsite truly believing that Charles Johnson is a top 5 overall player in the league regardless of position. Charles Johnson isn't even a top 5 player AT his position, much less regardless of it.

Charles Johnson plays QB doesn't he? I could have sworn the switched him there because he knows what a defense is thinking.

I said at the time that the Curry pick, with the circumstances surrounding it, was the worst I had ever seen. Brandon Weeden has since captured that title, though.

Yep, that was a terrible pick. But I'm still glad we took Curry over Sanchez...

The Raiders just love giving up multiple picks and then cutting the players before they even finish giving up the compensation.
How many picks over the years were used on these 4 players:
Jason Campbell
Carson Palmer
Aaron Curry
Terrelle Pryor
1st (Palmer)
2nd (Palmer)
3rd (Pryor)
4th (Campbell)
5th (Curry)
7th (Curry)
No joke, the Raiders gave up nearly an entire draft for 3QBs (one who doesn't even have an official regular season snap under his belt) and a LB who played essentially half a season for them.
Go Oakland.

To be fair to the current Oakland regime - they seem pretty intent on getting rid of all the mistakes. It's a shame Carson Palmer is a shadow of his former self. I think Oakland is going to get a QB this year - whether its Barkley, Smith, Glennon, Wilson or some other wildcard QB that comes out of nowhere they are in a pretty good spot to finally address the position. Honestly all those QBs were a way to try to rectify the Jamarcus Russell situation - that guy has held the franchise back 5 years so far. It will be another 1 or 2 before they will be competitive enough to compete for a playoff spot - that just shows how terribly wrong it can go if you pick the wrong guy for your franchise QB.

I don't see why Oka doesn't give Pryor a chance in the mean time.I mean is he that bad in practice ?

This is just sad and pathetic. And typically why teams end up short on talent. Even though Seymour ended up a good player it was another stupid trade because what good did he do for the team? Sure he was a leader, great player, I get all that, but you don't trade for Seymour unless you are a playoff team. Oakland had far too long been way too loose on giving up draft picks. Pryor was literally a 3rd rounder spent on a 40 time.

Probably because he was attrocious at throwing the ball and reading coverages his entire college career, and by going to a team who was probably the worst at developing talent I don't see the upside. At least Carson can get the ball to Denarius Moore.

Gabbert was put on IR along with Laurent Robinson. That muddles things some for Jacksonville. Henne is still a young player and if he plays well the rest of the season it will be interesting to see if they make him the starter and continue to develop Gabbert or draft someone else.

Eagles need to Orakpo Andy Reid, Howie Rosman
At least they are clearing space for younger guys to get time. The younger guys are trying and playing at 110% making most of their playing time.
