Luckily it's still under that first year warranty, but what a pain in the ass. I tried different cables and outlets, soft reset, factory rest, and nothing worked. Of course the person who was helping me on the Samsung Live Chat was clearly not a fluent English speaker, so it was hard to even ******* communicate with them.

i had the same issue. it actually resolved itself completely one day when i got pissed and ripped out the battery. all of a sudden it started charging properly again.

My first suggestion was going to be to change batteries. They're not that expensive on eBay.

Yeah, I thought it was charging when it was off but plugged in, however that seems to be just the OS telling me that it's charging, when the battery isn't taking anything.

Sadly, this is the worst day to go buy a ******* battery as everywhere is closed. And tomorrow is ******* black friday... goddamnit. I was hoping to avoid public places tomorrow. With luck, the stand-alone Verizon store won't be busy. I'm hoping it's just a battery issue.

I suppose the good news is that it's an Android phone and I can change the battery. If it were an iPhone, I'd have to throw it away and buy a new one.

i had that, the extended didn't make a huge difference, but it's so key to be able to swap them out.

epic that it's suddenly charging. like i said, mine did the same ****, then all of a sudden started working. generally everyone said, when it happens, jam it into the computer. if it works there, you're probably good. if it ever stops working there, use that warranty.

my battery was draining so fast, like within 3 hours fast, and that was just doing nothing...I almost had it running off the power cable all day. Went into verizon and swapped my battery. Problem solved. I may buy a back up battery out of pocket since i Plan on keeping this phone for a while.

Just bought the Optimus G off of Amazon for $100.
I'll let you guys know how awesome it is when I get it.
(I'm still secretly hoping for a CDMA Nexus 4 so if that ever happens, I'm definitely selling this one and going pure Android)

Started having battery issues again. Now it won't charge from the wall outlet or my car charger, but somehow it will from the computer, though my computer cannot recognize the phone.

Any advice?

Nah, I tried all that stuff yesterday.

So get this: I tried the outlet again, after it was on the computer, and it works fine. I think I am just going to take advantage of the warranty while I still can.

If I use a contract extension to get a phone on discount, according to my contract, I no longer get truly unlimited data. Verizon now limits data usage because of the iPhone and its bandwidth consumption on their networks.
