Upshaw has had some conditioning issues so he's rotated more but I want him starting. Bring Kruger into the game as a pass-rush specialist (unlike as a pass-coverage specialist like what he was doing a lot today) and sprinkle in McClellan at OLB and ILB. I'd still like them to add somebody with more explosiveness/a more effective pass-rush specialist that could take pressure off of Suggs but that's not a bad OLB group. ILB... there's only so much you can do with McClain and Ellerbe.
The DL didn't look too good collapsing the pocket but that was to be expected with Ngata limited and McPhee out (not that McPhee has been doing much this year anyways). Even though Richardson broke 100 yards I was mostly happy with the run-defense. Just everything else looked like crap.

Well that was nice. We can't take this as a huge positive sign that were perfect, but it nice to see us do that. Great distribution on offense. I don't think were better than last year but we are still 7-2. Next week will be a major indicator of our team.

Big Ben is out next week, great news but I don't think it will matter.
With the way our defense has been playing, probably doesn't matter who the QB is.
Also, I think Rainey will gash our run D if he plays.
Also, Pitt's defense has been getting better and better.
We can only hope Suggs plays lights out like he usually does against Pitt and Flacco and the offense find some way to be half decent on the road.
Should be a good game regardless.

If Haley adjusts his offense, Leftwich should have success while Ben is out. I can see this as a high scoring game.

Cant see our offense keeping up in a shootout. Not with the way Flacco plays on the road.

I understand the pessimism about the D right now but you seriously are expecting a shootout versus a the with the #1 ranked defense and a Byron Leftwich-led offense?

Who will be the starting CB opposite Cary Williams now that Jimmy Smith looks to be out this week?

Graham would be the #2 if Smith is out and Brown would come in as the #3.
I wouldn't look too much into the Johnson signing though. It seems like they aren't comfortable with Jackson's progress thus far so they just wanted somebody more experienced in case another CB goes down with injury. With that said I don't think Johnson plays much after being signed so recently and the Ravens rarely use 4 CB sets anyways.

Jimmy Smith Has Groin Surgery

Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith had surgery Thursday morning on his injured groin, adding more pain to Baltimore’s already hurting secondary.
Smith is expected to be back by the end of the season, according to Ravens Senior Vice President of Public & Community Relations Kevin Byrne.

Sigh... I guess it's better that he has the surgery now instead of trying to play through it.

Good game, all. This game was rather boring IMO, but pretty fierce. Hopefully we get ya in two weeks.

Neither team really won. We were just the team that didn't lose.

These road struggles are ridiculously frustrating to watch. I can't understand why this offense can't get over this, it's been going on for almost 2 years now. Absolutely pathetic.
We get the ball back to start the half, pray we can turn things around, getting to 9-2 would be HUGE.

There isn't one consistent facet of the offense. Generally you could peg Rice in there but not lately.

glad we snuck out the win. Props to our defense, they kept us in the game.
Pittsburgh at home will be tough, Ben should be back but I think we can win that.
Washington will be tough as well, I can totally see RG3 tearing our defense apart but I could see the same from Flacco, with the way Washington's secondary has been playing.
Interesting to see if our road struggles will continue in Washington, given that they are so close to home. Should be a good amount of Raven fans at this game :)
The Giants and Bronco's game will be huge, glad they are at home but I don't like our chances in either game. Giants are always hot in December and Manning has always owned us in Baltimore.
Finishing the season at Cincy also bothers me, obviously we suck on the road and Cincy is pretty hot right now.
10-6 at worst, 12-4 at best. IMO

So, 4th and 29...
Happy we're still able to pull out these road wins, even if they are super ugly.

4th and 29 was crazy. I didn't think he got it but I'm not complaining.
The offense just hits this bad patch in the middle of the game where they struggle to get a first and it just keeps stacking drive to drive.
Rice is getting his touches though. Lots of carries the past 4 weeks, even though he isn't producing that greatly.
I don't think were as good as we were last year but I respect 9-2.
Ray Lewis coming back is nice. We don't need to rush him back, but I'm glad he is gonna play again this year.

There's hardly a Ravens forum around here these days anyways.
Bad loss. It's really confusing why Cameron doesn't call more passing plays with routes that go over the middle. They usually work pretty well when they do use them but maybe that's just because it catches the defense off-guard since it's so rare. :/

My question is why wasn't Ray Rice used more in the fourth quarter? I know it's Cameron, but to not use your best player when the game is on the line?
