I don't think Tebow sitting on the bench as a backup QB when he has a 97% chance of not playing is really going to effect ticket demand, but I'm sure there is at least some demand effect with him possibly playing 15 or so snaps this time around.

The Jacksonville attendance crap is WAY overplayed by the media. In terms of percentage of stadium filled, the Jaguars far exceed the numbers of teams with much better situations.
Washington and Miami both have promising first round rookie QBs starting. Both have Metro areas four times the size of Jacksonville, but have attendance numbers of 9.2 and 20.7% lower.
Kansas City is supposed to have some great home stadium atmosphere. But despite being a larger city with a more storied franchise that has experienced a little more recent success, they fall behind the Jags by 3.2%
And then there is a team like Cincinnati. They made the playoffs last year yet still can't out-perform the Jaguars in attendance?
I hate sounding like a Jaguars fanboy and I know the Jaguars are below average when it comes to attendance, but I also hate the fact that the media has convinced everyone that the Jags are the laughing stock of the NFL when there are numerous other franchises with bigger populations, more history, and more current success that trail behind the Jags.

I follow the Jags and often go to the games, though. People make fun of the tarps but if you take them off the stadium would have the third largest capacity in the NFL. We haven't had a blackout since 2009, btw

All I know is that if it's 4th and 29 with the game on the line, I am throwing a dump-off to Ray Rice and he will convert

where are the numbers from, and when are they from?
and, for the record, i'm not saying the jags are the worst fanbase in the nfl. but no nfl team should ever have to tarp half its seats*. that's pathetic. especially for $35 tickets.
* probably not actually half its seats.

Apparently Jacksonville sold out over 90% of their stadium last season and ranked 24th in that metric.

Jets are a crap teem no one should even mention but Tebow headlines keep them in the public eye. Not a good football move, but financially it works.
Any publicity is good publicity financially.

Also, the numbers can be swayed by the sheer size of that stadium. As said, it's the 3rd largest and was built to house the Georgia/Florida game as I recall. No tarps needed to sell that out.
But other teams, like the Bears, have a tiny stadium in comparison. So the Jaguars probably have a larger overall attendance number. But if you gave the Bears (or Packers or Steelers or Giants or some team with a fanatically loyal fan base) a larger stadium, they'd still be selling out.

My numbers are from this season. With the tarps, their stadium is 87% of their maximum capacity. If they took the tarps off, which would give them the 4th largest stadium in the league, and sold none of those tickets (unlikely considering their stadium currently sells out except for club seats which the tarps are not on), their attendance percentage would still be better than Miami and Tampa.

I had always thought Jacksonville had absolutely horrific attendance, but when you look at the numbers that is really not the case. Surely not something to write home about, but not as bad as most think. The tarps are a bit deceiving, because as some have mentioned, that stadium was not built just for the Jaguars, but also Georgia-Florida. Not the same as custom building a stadium for the team and then being forced to tarp over seats.

That is the stupidest pregame chant I've ever heard. It's a God damned 2 Chainz song. This is why the Saints suck this year.

Matt Ryan didn't even have to do anything on that drive practically. Atlanta just imposed their will on that series.

Don't get too excited... It's the Saints. Everyone can run on them.
I hate having to root for either the Falcons or the Saints, but a Falcons loss helps the Bucs more, so I would prefer they win tonight.
