The computers did. The voters can't vote however they want. If you simply listen to people who vote, the perception is pretty overwhelming that Ohio State isn't a top 2 team (because they aren't. Even their coach said as much)

We both have a bias in opposite directions. Yours just isn't as strong as mine.

You don't know what the computers would have done or how close it would have been. And the computers are only 1/3 of the equation.

So if you want to purport how people would vote if OSU was eligible for ranking, so be it.

1) Meyer sure as hell didn't say that after going 12-0.
2) It's easy to discount a non-factor. I would certainly if I were voting, merely in the pursuit of trying to distinguish who the top 2 eligible teams were. That's why it's easy to put OSU 4 or 5, instead of 2 or 3.

1) No. I have no problem with Ohio State. I'm originally from Ohio and I hate the SEC more than anything. I would love to see them get snubbed, but it wouldn't have happened.

2) Yes we do. The computers calculate for Ohio State too. They have to.

Being ineligible absolutely had a lot to do with voters not ranking Ohio State higher. Plenty of them put them around 8 or 11 or 12 or whatever and stated that the sanctions played a part in them voting them low. If there were no sanctions then Ohio State would be voted higher despite their schedule and Braxton Miller would've gotten more Heisman hype (though he doesn't deserve it this year, maybe 5th place).

...But I really don't think Alabama and Georgia would've stayed ahead of Ohio State after their losses or ever jumped them. It might be close, but it's not like Georgia and Alabama didn't play watered down SEC schedules this year. Georgia didn't play Bama or LSU or Texas AM and got blown out by Carolina...Alabama didn't have to play Florida OR Georgia OR South Carolina. They played Texas A&M and LSU and lost one of those.

Everyone seems to admit the Georgia/Bama winner is the NC favorite, but they also seem to concede that if there were no sanctions then ND/OSU - both undefeated would be the NC game. I could imagine the backlash and turmoil if the voters and coaches put a 1 loss SEC team in over an undefeated Ohio State team. There'd be riots and chaos worse than ever.

It would be no different than if KState or Oregon went undefeated even though they played slightly tougher schedules.

That is totally not true, and exactly my point. Ohio State fans seem to believe that this is the case, but almost everything I've read suggests otherwise.

well it's easy to believe that when about 3/4 of the media pretended Ohio State didn't exist this year and didn't care when they won game after game and ignored them in the polls (considering the AP Poll is the only one where they were allowed to be ranked). We'll never know, but a 1-loss SEC team will never get in the NC over an eligible undefeated Pac 10/Big 12/ACC/Big Ten team ever. There is a difference between probably being the best team and deserving a shot/being rewarded for an unbeaten year.

...going undefeated in the Big Ten and beating Wisconsin, Nebraska, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, etc. is still more deserving than beating LSU (barely) as your one top notch win and LOSING at home to Texas A&M. I think people underestimate the value of actually losing a game in our current system.

Thought they were gonna be asking what teams to get next. Obviously they don't care what we'd say, but it'd be intersting to see who people would want if they could have anyone.

This was all about the awful division names.

I doubt Penn State was going anywhere unless the ACC grew greatly or the Bug Ten collapsed. Neither seems likely.

Does hammer home the point that nowadays it's grow as a conference or die though.

Just hung a new street sign celebrating 12-0 season on campus. Slightly excessive for a season that ends in just a division title.

Now the bar for 14-0, that's a keeper.

Rumors going around that CB J.T. Floyd, LB Brandin Hawthorne, and P Will Hagerup have been kicked off Michigan's football team. It would be strange if true, as Floyd and Hawthorne are both seniors and The Outback Bowl would be their final collegiate game. Hagerup has had multiple disciplinary issues in the past.

I really hope this isn't true. I can't remember, but did Floyd and Hawthrone have any issues in the past? If not, then it would be unusual for Hoke to kick someone off the team after a first offense. He didn't kick Darryl Stonum off the team until his second DUI. I'm kind of curious what the offense was if they did get kicked off the team.

Yeah I just got done reading that on another forum. Losing Floyd definitely hurts for that game since we still don't have much depth at CB, although this could explain why Dennis Norfleet was switched to CB out of the blue.
