Yea but none of those guys had the potential Rivers seemed to have a few years ago.

Like I wouldn't have a skeleton of say, Arizona, and want to give the keys to Romo as a bridge to a young draft pick.

I'd take Rivers in KC but I really don't know what I'd be willing to give up for him. I think I'd rather just draft a QB at this point.

QB decisions......
Vikings drafted Erasmus James in 2005 with their second 1st round pick that draft instead of Aaron Rodgers, because they believed still in Daunte Culpepper.

The year after, when they had had enough of Culpepper, Miami chose the FA Culpepper instead of the FA Drew Brees.

Drafting any QB in 2005 as the Vikings would have been ******* ********. 2004 was Culpepper's best season and it was without Moss. No one saw his complete collapse coming. That knee injury ended his career.

Sidney Rice has been awesome this year. As has Golden Tate. Baldwin's great when he's healthy and made two huge clutch grabs today.

But they could still use another receiver or two.

And a TE. I wouldn't be averse to adding Eifert at pick No. 32 in the first round.

Gotta say, I aint even all that upset over the Dolphins losing today. I was actually expected the Patriots to crush the Dolphins today. Was surprised they hung in there in the entire game. Who knows. If it wasnt for some dumbass ST's mistakes, they might of been able to walk away today with a W.

What was the deal with the Tomlin/Harbaugh exchange? Did Tomlin do anything questionable during the game?

Two factors have contributed to Philip Rivers’ precipitous fall.

First, the loss of prime Antonio Gates. For much of his career, he had one of the most dangerous and dependable “outlets” in the league. Gates is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and one of the greatest tight ends of all-time. Once the injuries started piling up, that dimension of their offense dwindled.

Second, the loss of Vincent Jackson. He was Rivers’ favorite target and the rapport between them was top-notch. Without Jackson, the Chargers haven’t been able to find a big-time receiver on the outside.

Both speak to a larger issue. Rivers relies on the deep ball. It’s his best throw. With those two weapons at his disposal, he was able to direct an offense centered around jump-ball football. It masked some of his decision-making deficiencies. He could throw it into coverage and get bailed out because Gates and Jackson had/have such a wide catching radius. After losing them, A.J. Smith never went out and bought suitable plugs. The Chargers have some talented receivers. But there’s not a person on the perimeter that can negate tight coverage and win the ball in the air. That’s what’s changed. He hasn’t modified his decision-making to fit his personnel.

I agree that the weapons downgrade has hurt him but I think it's obvious he simply does not trust his offensive line and I think that's the larger issue.

And his offensive line doesn't deserve to be trusted anyway.

So there's no running game, the defense knows you have to pass = bad.
