It's who we are. We turn it up against good teams ala Ravens and Falcons games coming up. We do it all the time.

I don't see it this year with that back 7 on defense.

It's just nowhere near a given. Two years ago you were 9-4 headed into week 15 and lost to a good team in the Eagles, got demolished by a good team in the Packers and missed the playoffs.
You're still the odds on favorite for the division but it's not like these things always work out for the Giants and it's some kind of foregone conclusion they're going to turn it around.

The Giants made the mistake of trying to make it into a ball possession game, I know u want to keep it out of RGIII's hands but against our horrid defense if I'm the Giants I take my chances in a shootout with the hopes of the pass rush making a big play on RGIII. Shortening the game and putting pressure on the defense to stop the Skins run game is a tall order. RGIII now has 17 TD's to 4 INT's but what impresses me the most is his ball handling. The fact that he doesn't put it on the ground more is amazing and his ball handling freezes the defense. I doubt RGIII reaches Vick's 1039 rushing yards but he may get around 900. I just like the gameplan more with less designed run plays for RGIII, I can stand the option because it helps the pass game, but the earlier in the year designed sweeps with a lead blocker was deadly.

duh, we blew it because that's also the giants way. Hence 08 when we blew our amazing season. It's the mantra of the team the last 6 years or so. Play best when our backs are against the wall, lose to lesser teams (also the skins scare me and shouldnt be demeaned by "lesser"
and turn it around? We just smacked the Packers last week and beat the niners in san fran. What're we turning around? One loss to an on fire skins team?
And we're NEVER the odds on favorite to start a year. ever. ever ever. I don't know where you're getting that from.

Yeah, but now you're only up one game in the division to a surging Redskins team and a desperate Cowboys team. You've split the season series with both and also have the early loss to Philly hurting your division record tiebreaker.
Yo is right in that we all just assume the Giants are guaranteed to turn it around when that is far from a given.
Regular season apathy shouldn't be a thing that is celebrated. It's going to eventually bite the Giants in the ass, and it could even happen this year.

fair enough, my bad. I mean, we still lead the division by a game. I don't see why we wouldn't be, but the skins are coming on strong. They scare me now and down the road

Trust me, we don't celebrate it. We've just simply used this as a coping mechanism for watching a team that's so ridiculously inconsistent.
Call us spoiled I guess, but the giants are the most predictably unpredictable team ever.
To be fair, we (mainly Rosebud) have called the wins and losses for the giants fairly well thus far.

And this play becomes that much more important in the division race:
Ughhh

The giants are the worst frontrunners I've ever seen in any sport, that's why I'm glad we lost this game and have the Skins breathing down our necks. When the team feels pressure to perform that's when they step up, that's why they **** the bed in 08 and why they pissed away their lead two years ago. With the Skins just a game back the giants are going to have to win some games, and once they go on a role, they're deadly because there's more than enough talent to dominate any team, especially when the DL decides to show up like they did against the packers, and when Kenny's back there to clean up everything deep.

RGIII vs. Luck in the Super Bowl. The way they keep pulling wins out of their arses, it seems like destiny.

I think their respective teams complete lack of defensive ability is going to hurt them once they start playing the conference elites.
I could easily see both keeping up this pace and making the playoffs, maybe even stealing a game, but to beat 3 straight of their conferences best is a long shot.

That would be one of the more incredible feats in sports if this happens. I don't think the Colts are getting out of the AFC this year tho. Or the Redskins out of the NFC for that matter.

I think we'll see it eventually though for sure, well I know they'll both make at least 1 SB be nice if it was against eachother. For now, I'd be fine with a Peyton vs Luck playoff game.

Yeah I agree it's probably a year or two of building up their roster too early. Both have pretty significant weaknesses on defense.

The most hilarious thing I have heard in a while,
Adrian Peterson has more YPC, 6.2, than Christian Ponder has YPA, 6.0. That is just embarrassing.

Probably too busy crying in his beer.
I thought the Giants were very lackluster last night, especially on defense. They did a pretty good job of holding the edge against Griffin but really did nothing creative to disrupt a young offense. Maybe i missed it but i didn't see anything that remotely looked like a stunt or a blitz from that secondary. If they can't cover they might as well utilize them in other areas.
