It is a different sport, but that's pretty much what Maradona did when Argentina finally won the WC, same for Zidane's france, or Kahn in 2002. Sure they had talented help, but they just took over and carried their teams past the opposition.

I'll say Di Santo pulls one back just before the half.

Wigan looks bad. I'm hoping Papiss can get one.

No advancement to be decided today. A little anticlimactic, but I guess we'll see if a couple big spenders can make Europa.
[Answers: City- no. Zenit - yes]

Judging by city's lineup they've all but given up on Europa league anyways. Probably best if we just focus on the premiership from here on out although that could mean mancini's job security will now rely solely on repeating as champs.

Obviously more focused on Sunday's derby, as they should be. Huge game.

Ya I'd much rather focus all our efforts towards the derby than trying to qualify for Europa league.
Of course it helps that Dortmund is also dressing a less than stellar lineup but we'll still be in tough to grab the 3 points on the road. I'm sure Reus will still find a way to end up with a brace in the first half once he realizes he just has to take it straight at Maicon.

Yeah Marco's amazing. I'm fully convinced that he'll be the best player on our NT at the WC. He's just such a phenomenal goal scorer to go with his great passing, speed and movement.

Union with another awesome win, that makes them 2-0-0 at games I've attended and 3-0-1 since I've been back in the homeland. Guess I really have to make sure I get that internship here.

Goodnight Man $ity. Your players take cheap shots after the whistle. Your fans throw coins at opposing players and you still can't beat your rival at home.
Oh completely forgot the gift the referees gave them in the form of a incorrectly ruled offsides. Fans in blue are just as distasteful as the players in the uniform.

Yes, generalize the entire fan base based on one small group of drunken idiots. If you didn't notice it was Joe Hart who stopped the fan running on to the pitch going for Ferdinand right after, clearly they have no class . As a Cowboys fan you should be lucky we don't all generalize entire fan bases based on the actions of a few fans.
As for the game there's no way United is in it if Tevez starts over Balotelli. Puzzling decision to say the least. Hope Kompany's not seriously injured either.

Sure. They had a goal taken off the board but they didn't deserve to win. City had just as much diving coming from Tevez and Kun. I hate that diving is becoming so rampant. Punish offenders harshly and do away with it.

Every single Man City fan I'm friends with on FB have been royal douches leading up to the game. Generalization fits from that experience. Provided I've spoken with you enough to know you are level-headed so therefore you are correct in the point that it was an unfair generalization. Hart is a class act I should of just said that segment of Man City fans deserve Tevez and Balotelli.
Man City didn't create scoring chances. Possession is great but you have to develop a killer edge when it comes to chances especially against the top teams in the league. Manchester United at one point had 2 shots on target with 2 goals. If you convert your chances and play counterattacking football your chances of beating the opposition skyrocket.
Tevez is lucky he made it to 90 minutes. Quite a few chippy tackles, bantering to the referees, and then that cheap shot after the ball was out of bounds on Phil Jones is going to be earning him a suspension from the league.

We're unlucky thus far today. Playing some great football. A draw would be a fair result.
