Obviously this is something that not only professional athletes are stupid about.... it happens every day in our country where people, men and women, think they're immune to both A) the affects of alcohol and B) the law.
At least in this case, if there's a silver lining, the idiot didn't smash into another vehicle and wipe out an innocent family who just happened to be at the wrong place, wrong time. We see that on the news way too often.

Drunk idiot smashes into car, kills them, but the idiot lives.

The NFL, and each team, has a simple program for these fools where they just call a #, and someone comes and gives them a ride.
They don't even have to pay for a cab.
