I only lie if it makes people think I'm cool. Outside of that, no I wouldn't lie to you.

Hey Ness, please tell your boys to take it easy on the Dolphins tomorrow. Please dont make them look like a HS team. Which I have a feeling they will. I feel sorry for the offense going up against the 49ers amazing D. Gonna be brutal.

Honestly after the Rams game I don't know how things will turn out. I'm guessing a blow out, but who knows. Things have been really uneasy ever since this quarterback situation.

Wes Welker is 8 catches away from being the only receiver in NFL history with 5 100+ reception seasons and had he not torn his ACL, it may very well be his 6th (all in a row as well).

should we start with his prior DUI arrest/conviction?

I don't know his history - perhaps you do - but the man he killed was his friend. Do you not think he regrets his decision? Punishment is warranted, but let's not act like punishment is the only way he'll regret what he's done. Do you put him in a cell for twenty years, useless, consuming resources, but unhappy (the punishment aspect), or do you take his driver's license forever?
|
yes, because taking away his driver's license will certainly prevent him from getting behind the wheel, just like convicting him for a DUI prevented him from drinking and driving ever again. you know, until he felt like it.
Quote:
|
Or something like that? He was lacking the judgement which would have prevented him from accidentally taking a life forever, so make his punishment such that he can't do it again. I mean, maybe that's not severe enough if you're thinking, "A man is dead - he should be punished more than just not being able to drive," but that doesn't take into account that it was accidental and the result of poor judgment, not malicious intent, and that difference is important.
|
i have absolutely no idea why you're still talking about punishment. there's no punishment. there's simply removing a person who's shown that he has no regard for anyone else's life from the streets before he kills someone else. i don't get off on punishing serial killers with prison, but i'd rather they spent the rest of their life there if there's no possibility of rehabilitation. there clearly isn't, in this case.

Which is weird because I feel like the ability to execute a play without being stopped is one of the components of playing offense, but I could be wrong.

It's awful. Usually I have some kind of feel for how I want them to move forward. I don't even know anymore. Rex is a great defensive mind, but a lot of the stuff he does baffles me and I think he's just lost the team. And this offseason they literally need to bring in 12 new starters. It's at least a two year rebuild.
I do know I want a new GM and quarterback, though. Easier said than done, of course.

I was watching cbs' pres game show a moment ago and they were talking about penalizing offensive players for leading with their helmet when engaging with a defender. That's a bit over the top, imo

Sanchez is an over-coddled sensitive ***** - that's why they are doing this. They don't want to hurt his fragile ego and it's going to cause a rift within the locker room because I have a feeling most players feel that Sanchez gets special treatment even though his performance does not warrant any preferential treatment.
Rex's blinded loyalty to Sanchez is going to cost him his job at some point.

Yea I am getting sick of all the rule changes and proposed rule changes. The only rule they need to change is to allow the defense to play defense like they used to be able too.
The game is dangerous - if they can develop better helmets and pads than that is great but the sport is based on reaction and instinct and having all these rules in place can impede on a player's decision making and ultimately hurts the competitive level of the game.

Maybe, I don't know. They pulled him last week, they know how bad he is, obviously Rex felt at a point that McElroy was a better option (and was right). It's pretty clear that rift already exists in the locker room. Maybe not even a rift, the team just seems dead when he's out there, I think most of them agree.
I'm not sure Rex is even back next season at this point. Frankly, I'm not sure he wants to be either.

First play of the Chiefs/Browns game, Charles takes it 80 yards for a score.
