I thought up until today that the Mets would have pulled the trigger on an Olt/Martin package, but I read something saying that doesn't interest us.

Yeah it wouldn't make any sense to me either. We'll find out soon enough.

Those are not positions Texas have to offer. Probably why a deal probably won't get done unless a 3rd team is involved who would take Olt. But it makes me think if the Rangers can trade Olt for an OF or C, they might to it for themselves.

Your best bet is to sell high. Dude is 37 already. But he would make sense for the Angels if the Mets want Bourjos and Conger. I don't think they can get Trumbo.

Bourjos, Trumbo, or Conger would be awful return. It would be the worst birthday ever.

One could hope. They're going all out so it's 99% doubtful but there's a chance!

Sandy's not taking a package headlined by Arencibia.

I'd do Gose, Arencibia, and Syndergaard or however you spell it.

Probably reasonable, but Syndergaard is just so far away. Arencibia does nothing for me. I've already had Barajas as my catcher.

He'd be the 3rd part of that deal. As a team we're far away so I don't care if we have to wait to develop Synd. I would do Sanchez also. Love the high upside pitchers.

When you have a 37 year old journey man, who had 1 great year, is looking to get big money and isn't locked up... your asking price can't be too crazy, no matter how good he was.

I didn't know the Mets mentality was to win now...

If the Blue Jays want Dickey, they'll get him. Halos can't compete with the spects they got

I'm trusting that we are going to go back to spending some kind of money next year. If so, 2015 is an achievable contend date.

He's not asking for big money.

If Jays get him they are looking very strong
Dickey/Morrow/Josh Johnson is a pretty damn good 1-3. Buehrle as the #4 is solid to
great offense with Bautista/Encarnacion/Reyes/Lawrie/Melky/Rasmus

Sounding like it may be Gose and Arencibia for Dickey

Wow, could there possibly be a more underwhelming duo?

Will Dickey re-sign in Toronto? That whole "other country" thing turns a lot of players off.

I can live with it. Dickey is 38 years old who has history of AL failure.

Those are the 2 names floated around but there is nothing done yet
really though, Cy Young or not, the Mets can't really expect to get a huge haul for a 38 year old who is due to be a FA after the year

Having read his book, he doesn't seem like the guy who would ever reject a team for such a reason.
