You have the Browns going with the right position, and I can't really complain about Montgomery, but I really feel like Ansah is the superior prospect.

Rams

Warmack
Mathews

Perfect. I think the Rams will lose their final 2 games at TB and at Seattle, which should move them up a few more spots. This should ensure the Warmack pick. But, with the Redskins keep winning, I'm not sure Mathews will be available with their pick. If not, how about OT Fisher?

You are ridiculously wrong. Amerson is a very sure tackler, especially from the CB position. I'll give you fundamentals of the CB position and he is by no means a cover corner. He needs to be in a zone scheme or at free safety. Not sure he fits what NE wants to do defensively, but if anyone could get him playing to his maximum potential, it would be the Patriots.

Do keep in mind that he played safety in high school, not CB. AND we are NCSU, not exactly a school that produces quality defensive backs, Adrian Wilson not withstanding. I'm good with CBs that don't try to dry hump the pylons.

Well our pass rush was probably worse then our OL which is saying a lot. I don't understand the McClellin pick though. I would've wanted Cordy Glenn if we went OL. I loved him as a OG and he's turned out to be a really good LT already. :( We suck at this whole draft biness. That and McClellin can't even get to the QB.

Dion Jordan to the Jets would be awesome. Would love to see how they'd utilize him in the defensive scheme. Adds a ton of athleticism to a linebacker corps that desperately needs some, lots of pass rushing upside, tons of versatility, good instincts on the field, and already has experience standing up which is nice. Frankly I think he's a steal at 15.

That said, I do agree with Yoto that a QB would be nice also if the value was right (which based on your mock it isn't, and I think at this point a whole lot has to happen before we have a good feel for how that position shakes out). Also worth noting is both starting guards are free agents this offseason, so Vlad Ducasse and Caleb Schlauderaff are penciled in to start right now which is frankly terrifying. I know you mentioned RT in your lineup, but G is arguably a bigger need.

Bernard Pollard has played at a high level for us the past two years and is signed through the next few years. I understand BPA but it's tough because a 3rd safety doesn't really get on the field unless there's an injury. I'm not sure Reid has the type of versatility and coverage skills to be a 5th DB in nickel sets. What we really need to get faster and more athletic in the front seven. Name a position, we're slow there right now. BPA in the front seven probably make a lot more sense for us right now than safety.

If you're taking requests, I have my little heart set on Arthur Brown. He's gonna be a special, special player and is exactly what we need. It would be fair to say not every 3-4 team will be looking at him because of his size even though we've seen numerous athletic 4-3 only LB's thrive inside in 34's in recent years.

On a sidenote: I think Ziggy ends up going much earlier than 23rd when it's all said and done.

sidenote #2: I'm curious as to why people are putting Lewan above Jake Matthews.
This. All of it. If/when Reed re-signs with the Ravens I have a really hard time seeing him not being the starter for another couple of years. Like TACKLE said a 3rd safety doesn't get on the field too much and Reid isn't the type of guy you bring in on most nickel sets. Even if Reed retires or doesn't re-sign with the Ravens is a tandem of Pollard and Reid going to mesh that well? I wouldn't be too comfortable with it.

I'm a big fan of Arthur Brown too but any athletic upgrade in the front seven would be a welcome addition. Kruger may be playing his way out of Baltimore's price range too so a pass-rushing OLB would even be a pretty good pick even though they just took Upshaw last season (who isn't primarily a pass-rusher anyways).

I have no problem with the Eifert pick, but one thing you might want to keep in mind is that the Packers are also probably looking for a quality FS.

That's not to say that their safeties are bad, but Woodson, Burnett, Jennings, and McMillan are all much better suited to playing Strong than Free.

If the Kansas City Chiefs are actually dumb enough to waste the #1 pick on a bad system QB they should be traded to the CFL for whoever wins the Gray Cup.

I wouldn't take Geno Smith either but this is probably a year that is so weak at the top that the gamble is probably justified. It's not like someone is passing on a Lawrence Taylor or a Reggie White because they need a QB

I know teams don't look at the draft in terms of it being a two or three year process but i'd personally wait for what is clearly a better QB crop in 2014.

Regardless of need wasting the #1 pick on a marginal QB prospect is just plain stupid. There isn't a big gap between Smith or Barkley and guys projected to go Round 3 and lower.

Absolutely agreed! The biggest problem for the defense has been the lack of speed, athletisism and pass rush ability from the LB position. Jordan should provide everything and with his coverage ability would be an incredible tool for Rex Ryan to work with. I've read somewhere he could use him like Adalius Thomas a couple of years ago and I dont think that is very far fetched...

Maybe there isn't a QB worth the #1 pick, but is taking a highly touted lineman at #1 really an answer for the Chiefs? They've already got a lot invested in the defensive front 7 and offensive line, yet they are theworst team in the NFL. Don't really see how adding another lineman helps them much.

I think if the Chiefs take any player who is not a quarterback with the #1 overall pick, everybody who makes decisions in that front office should be fired before Goodell walks to the podium.

There is no more glaring need in that organization than quarterback, and "there's no QB worthy of this pick, so we'll take a guy we're high on at a different position" is how they got into this mess to begin with (well, that and hiring the interim coach... never hire the interim coach.)

I think Jets should take Mike Glennon instead of OLB because Rex Ryan or the franchise would love to have the legit run game back. Glennon's ideal height and arm strength should keep defense in check so that way Jets could become a better smashmouth offense. Additionally, once Glennon and WRs click altogether, Jets should give us something exciting to watch offensively.

I feel there are a plenty of pass rushing projections for OLB after 1st round starting with John Simon or Travis Long. Mike Glennon is one of few quarterbacks that could actually seat Mark Sanchez next year.
Really? I thought Dion Jordan going that early was one of the more interesting picks.

As for the Jets and a QB, I would be absolutely shocked. They have so much time and money invested in Sanchez that he is going to get another chance unless they bring in a whole new regime. And if Rex Ryan / Mike Tannenbaum do stay there is no way they are going to start over at the games most important position with their jobs on the line.

Now with that said I think Sanchez is a bust and I can't believe he's gotten this long.

Couldn't agree more! That would be a Davis / Iupati level home run for the Rams!

Well, I kind of mentioned what happened with the wideouts in an earlier post.

With Rhodes it was basically just the case of a guy who was on the borderline and didn't make the first round cut. I am not nearly as high on Rhodes as most either though.

Ogletree is a legit pick. Whether he ends up outside or inside it is a good pick.

You can always move up from 33 into the latter part of the 1st round to get your qb. If your scouting department has Tyler Wilson the top qb. But, the 25th best player. You just give up your third and a pick next year. Have your cake. The best player in the draft. You get to eat it. And you get your qb.
