Awesome three-horse race for ROY. Will legitimately come down to the final week.

Ticker just said Wilson was 11-12 on third down and 4-4 for Red Zone TDs today. Against, supposedly, the best team in the NFL.

How the hell are people still considering Luck a possible OROY winner?

Agree it's not just how well Wilson played, it's who he did it against.

"This stats argument [between Bob and Andy] is like bragging about throwing a hotdog down a hallway 50/50 times without hitting a wall compared to pissing in a beer bottle without spilling a drop".
No offense to anyone, I'm not remotely smart enough to come up with this line.
Next week shall continue to be epic

Lotta yards.
Was drafted #1 overall.
Perfect blend of size, athletic ability, arm strength.

Great vote going here..... 103 votes are in.
Anyone here not voted yet?
Mods, can you refresh this now that week 16 is over, so everyone can cast their vote now a week's games later, so it all can remain in this thread and not a new one???

I was thinking about starting a new thread with a new poll, but didn't want to look like I was hijacking/restarting the same conversation. But a refreshed poll would be a good idea after today; I'd expect the numbers to be closer than ever to thirds.

This sounds cute, but the greatest difficulty facing Luck is the amount of times he's asked to throw, not the difficulty level of the throws he's being asked to execute.
Many of Luck's passing errors have been the fault of his own poor decision making, not the fault of the offense he's being asked to run. The fact he's been able to overcome his mistakes and still lead the Colts to wins is a testament to his great ability.
Rookie QBs who have the turnover rate that Luck has rarely win football games, or make the playoffs.
BTW I've heard two sports radio hosts declare Luck their OROTY because he set the passing yardage record, which is about as deep as most casual football fans are going to get in their decision making process. His low completion percentage or high number of turnovers are going to be secondary IMO to making the playoffs and his 4K+ passing.

It's going to be very hard to deny Russel Wilson once it's all said and done. I may have been the biggest Russel Wilson homer in existence (thought he should be a top 5 pick) but even I didn't expect him to do what he's done this year.
Andrew Luck has not played at an elite level as consistently as the other two guys have but any other year he'd have my vote but this year Wilson and Griff have been lights out fantastic. I haven't seen RG3 have a 'rookie game' yet and his stats speak for themselves. Seattle has a ton of young talent and are going to be good for a long time. I think the fact that he has so much talent around him may affect voters. Luck keeps getting the benefit of the doubt because the Colts (or Indianapolis Lucks as we should start calling them) keep winning despite sporatic play from their rookie signal caller. Some of it has to do with Luck but I think this team is overachieving, fuelled by their coaches illness. It's a feel good story, but it would be a travesty if he got it over the other two. Breaking the Passing record is great and all but if RG3 were asked to throw as much as Luck he would be in Drew Brees yardage territory if all things stayed true, however if RG3 turned the ball over as much as Luck the skins would be bottom dwellers again and it's not even close. He's had to be almost perfect because of how bad the D is (though they have been very good at forcing turnovers.).

Jesus christ, RG3 has 7 turnovers ffs!

Griffin fumbles more, but can probably be attributed to his running. Luck has fumbled 10 times to Griffin's 11. Wilson has fumbled 5 times.
Total Turnovers:
Luck - 28
Wilson - 14
Griffin - 15
Luck is very good and will be good for many MANY years to come. However, right now I'm giving it to Wilson, with Griffin a close 2nd.

You're discrediting " THE PAGANO EFFECT".
Also, Jerry Hughes.

this is a tough one. i think Griffin deserves it the most when it comes to stats. but Luck has the record to go along with it, Wilson as well.
its really a toss up tbh, and i have no idea who takes home the trophy.
i want Griffin or Wilson to win it though.

Then by that token those same fans will misrepresent his turnovers I forget what game it was but he heaved one into the end zone at the half and it was picked off. Also thr interception against the titans that should have never been called.

Agreed. You can make STRONG arguments for every single candidate. If this wasn't such a strong QB year you could have the same argument over the best rookie RB this year.
Alfred Morris: 1413 yards (4.7 ypc) 10 TD
Doug Martin: 1312 yards (4.5 ypc) 10 TD --- 45 catches 454 yards
Trent Richardson: 950 yards (3.6 ypc) 11 TD --- 51 catches 367 yards
Alfred Morris and Doug Martin would be very legitimate picks for OROY most years.

Yeah he is actually 103 yards away from tying the Redskins single season rushing record with Clinton Portis.

Okay if we're playing that game we'll just add the 9 ints he's had dropped then too (could be more)

Luck leads the league in dropped catchable interceptions.
The Redskins will be in the playoffs after beating the Cowboys.

I'd love to see your research. :) Post up your credible link on "Dropped Catchable Interceptions" whenever you get the chance.
