Yeah Gilmore looks really good. He really shut down Brandon Lloyd in the first Pats game despite Brady really going after him. He could be a real good one.
I really don't know who I would give this award to. I don't like the idea of LBs getting it simply because unless you are like Willis/Bowman level the LB position has almost become a situational role. I don't care if someone has a million tackles because that's not where the game is won anymore.
QB disruptions, pass breakups, turnovers, great coverage etc are the most important thing.
Janoris Jenkins is intriguing. His game changing plays far outweigh any other rookie, however his play has been so up and down all year.
I would probably give it to Heyward

Luke Kuechly <3
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-h...hly-highlights
Since Kuechly moved to middle LB in week 5 the Panthers are #4 in DYPG, and currently rank #8 for the entire season. Considering they were 28th last season and close to the bottom of the league before he made the switch, I'd say he's had a pretty significant impact.

Stats wise Zach Brown is right up there especially after two INT TDs in today's game so far. Being on a crap D means he won't win it and in fairness he probably shouldn't based on actual play alone, but he has played pretty good.

Looks like this past draft was good for linebackers. Keuchly, Hightower, Wagner, Brown, David, Kendricks, Burris. All contributing heavily

Kuechly:
10 games with 10+ tackles (leads NFL)
3 games with 15+ tackles (nobody in the league has more than one)
All this with Ron and Dwan Edwards in front of him at DT.
In the 11 games he's been in the middle, the defense has been ranked #4.(before week 17)

So what do we all think? I hope Kuechly wins it but I don't know if you can ignore all the plays Jenkins made...

Definitely was his poorest game of the season. I'd say Kuechly will win it
