I wasn't meaning it as a dig to RG3 is was trying to say its not a straight forward comparison of numbers. However regardless of the run game, to have thrown the NFL average of passes per game twice all season tells me that the Skins don't want Griff out there slinging it. I did say you have to credit the Shanahans for that because it helped them win a division title. I'm more trying to provide some context to people throwing up QBR and completion % as the be all end all in this discussion. When Griffin threw as much as Luck his numbers weren't great. Efficiency is a big deal for QBs however its tough to be efficient when your OC has you throwing 50+ passes

It should be a 5-way tie.

Luck, RG3, Wilson, Morris and Martin are all deserving.

Honestly, I won't be upset with any of these choices. You can make a case for any of them (yes, Martin also).

It hurts your chances to win ROY when you're playing on 1 leg and make plays to win a game to win the division for the first time since 1999?

No - it hurts your chance when you have a stud RB that carried the team to the playoffs last night.

63 yds and a TD on one leg. Providing the running threat and ball handling needed to open it up for ALF

Martin is definitely the odd man out since Tampa failed to make the playoffs.

I'd give it to Alfie before RG3. Morris carried that team not Griffin. It was because of Morris teams had to sell out to stop the run and this made Grif's life easy. I was originally in the RG3 for OROY camp but I have since changed my belief.

Stats should not be the end all debate for this award. Both Luck and Morris did more for their team.

(Martin has no case, Morris has more yards, TDs, and is in the playoffs.)

Grif's run threat set and the zone read handoff set up the Skins run offense. Defenses believing they had to stop TWO ballcarriers on run plays allowed one of them to run crazy.
If Cousins is running the zone read, everyone knows you only have to key the RB.

Anytime a DE/OLB keyed Robert on the edge, Morris got the ball, many times with no LBs there on the backside to stop him.
Not saying Almo isn't a stud, but I don't know if he's a 1600 yard back in a more conventional scheme.

To be honest the Skins MVP is Kyle Shanahan. He's the architect of this offense along with Mike to a lesser degree.

If one player carried this team, the lean has to go to RG3, but the impact of the Albert Morris can't be overstated.

Anytime a rookie QB throws for over 3200 yards, 20 TDs/5 INTs and runs for 800 yards and 8 TDs, it's not all on the RB.

Redskins fans do you not remember Cousins played extremely well for Cousins - please don't gloss over that fact before anointing Griffin the second coming of Christ.

Like the Heisman Luck is getting lost in the Griffin HYPE.

3. Andrew Luck

I do think Luck will have the best career though.

Sorry but the Browns aren't very good. And nothing about RG3 this season is 'hyped' above and beyond his performance on the field.

Re-watch the Giants games, or any of the teams that totally collapsed the Redskins oline early in the season with edge pressure. Cousins would have been eaten alive.

Cousins one good game against a bad Browns team shouldn't marginalize or underrate what RG3 has done this season.

Didn't we already have this debate between Shaun Hill and Matt Stafford??lol

RG3 and Cousins are just different levels of QB.

Let's compare Griffin's first game starting vs the worst defense in NFL history vs Cousins first start against the Browns. People like to gloss over these things. I agree Griffin had a very good rookie year but what Luck did with less of a supporting cast is being severely underrated.

You can argue Luck for ROY if you want to that's fine. But to call RG3's season anything less than amazing and one of the best rookie QB season's ever is absurd.

How is anyone underrating Luck?
He's been the odds on favorite to win OROTY since before the season began.

Alfred Morris was more valuable to the Redskin's success than RGIII. I hate that RGIII champions tried to diminish the fact Morris was running against stacked sets all year and STILL become the 2nd best rookie rusher ALL-TIME.

RGIII has got to be thankful he had the #1 rushing attack to lean and depend on Alfred Morris to literally carry him to victory as when RGIII was asked to win games (see: 30+ attempts) he went 1-3.

Not to mention how in the world does a QB go 9-18 for 100 yards and still have fans cheering for him to win an award? Alfred Morris freaking picked RGIII up and dragged him kicking and screaming to the finish line.

1. Luck
2. Morris
3. RGIII/Wilson
4. Martin

Hell of a year for rookies that's for sure. :)

3. RGIII/Wilson
4. Martin

Hell of a year for rookies that's for sure. :)
It almost seems silly to clarify this, but you realize that RG3 is a huge part of what makes Morris' success possible, right?

Seeing him rush for 200 yards in the Redskins most important game of the season, against a defense that HAD to stop him, AND with RGIII not able to run as effectively really makes me wonder if Alfred Morris hasn't been just as critical to the Redskins success as RGIII. Just because he was picked in the 6th round and RGIII was the sexiest move of the draft doesn't mean he's been less important. Cousins had a great game when he had to play, too. It's a nice situation for a rookie QB, and the Redskins do a good job of playing to their player's strengths.

Having a strong inside running game makes things a hell of a lot easier for Robert, too. It's mutually beneficial.

Because it was one out of 16 games and he played on one leg only two weeks after an injury that people said would take up to four to recover from...oh and he ran for 60 yards and a td and no turnovers...

Morris actually finished with the 3rd most yards behind a former Redskin in George Rogers. Either way still very studly & I couldn't be happier he is one of us.

There's no way Morris is more valuable than RGIII.

People act as if you lined up Morris in say, the Giants backfield and just handed the ball off to him 300+ times he would have had 1600+ yards.
(I picked the Giants because I think their Olines are similar in ability).

If you don't understand how the SKins run the zone read option or how it freezes safeties and LBs on run plays, or that RG3 has the most wicked ball fake in the NFL, you're just looking at Morris' stats blind and thinking he's doing what AD is in Minny.

Morris is a tough, hard nosed runner who doesn't go down on first contact with good vision for finding cutback lanes, but it's Griffin's run threat that's added IMO 300-400 rushing yards to his totals.

I wish everyone could hear all the press conferences after Skins games and listen to how often Shanny says how Robert's mobility opens up so many running lanes in this hybrid ZBS.

Almo has been irreplaceable to this SKins this season, but he's not more valuable to this offense than RG3.
LOL now Grif has suddenly morphed into Christian Ponder.

Morris wasn't running against stacked fronts all season long. He was running against LBs and safeties whose feet were stuck in quicksand at the snap. You rarely saw LBs crashing the LOS on run plays because they couldn't.
