Think I might check out Killer Joe today, or sometime soon.
Movies I still want to see: The Master, Silver Linings Playbook, ParaNorman, Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, End of Watch, Smashed, Take this Waltz, Celeste and Jess Forever, Lincoln.
Eventually The Hobbit, Cloud Atlas, and Skyfall, but I was never especially hyped for them. Maybe Skyfall a bit due to Mendes and Bardem.

I thought Lincoln was pretty bad. DDL killed it, good performances all around but it was dragged down by poor direction. I just did not find myself caring about anything. Movie lacked any kind of edge, I found it very bland.

I totally agree, they really dropped the ball on "Lincoln". With the exception of Daniel Day-Lewis of course, who was amazing. "Les Mis" was good if you like musicals. Tom Hooper really knows what he is doing, especially visually, and that shot of Anne Hathaway performing I Dreamed A Dream with no cuts was an acting clinic. The most enjoyable movie that I've seen in a while was "Django Unchained" and if you are a fan of Quentin Tatantino's work you'll love it. Not quite "Reservoir Dogs" or "Pulp Fiction" but definitely on par with "Inglorious Bastards".
I loved "The Master" too, but I'm a big Paul Thomas Anderson fan and that isn't for everyone.

Oddly, I watched that movie last week for the first time. Good stuff. Interesting that both Lost in Translation and Silver Linings Playbook (which I saw yesterday and loved) have a scene at the end where important dialogue is kept from the viewer by dropping the sound.

I really want to see "Silver Linings Playbook" but it hasn't played anywhere close to me.

Call me a pleb, but I was not impressed by Punch-Drunk Love. So he just drives out to meet Philip Seymour Hoffman, yells at him and then goes back to his British love interest? 3deep5me

It's not a spoiler. Now go watch the movie before I actually spoil it.

While I love almost everything Nic Cage says in that film, my favorite might just be "DON'T TREAT WOMEN LIKE THAT"
EDIT: McGee ninja'ing me. People with a Buffalo connection are just cooler.

Saw The Hobbit yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait for parts II and III.

Django was all sorts of crazy. I don't think I enjoyed it as much as Inglourious Basterds, but still damn good.

Watching The Hobbit reminded me why I always preferred it to the LOTR novels. Martin Freeman was the perfect choice to play Bilbo and it was a beautiful looking film. That said I couldn't help but feel a tad let down. Still a really great film and it would rank somewhere around 5-10 if I were to rank the ten best movies of 2012.
APS, what the hell man? I loved Inglorious but Django just really did it for me and I will have to give it another watch but it may end up being my favorite Tarantino film so far.
