There's a ton of talent on the roster and a ton of cap space to go after guys.
I agree.it was mostly a mess because of horrendous coaching/QB play

We have to draw the line somewhere, and I'm fine with it being ORANGE people.

I don't want to live in a world where Hulk Hogan or The Situation couldn't be Head Coaches in the NFL.

There's a ton of talent on the roster and a ton of cap space to go after guys.
QB - obviously going to be a crapshoot. He's not going to be starting off with anyone he knows can get the job done. Any QB that's picked can bust.

RB - Yeah, obviously no complaints about Jamaal Charles. Hillis kind of blows as the backup, but Charles makes up for it.

TE - Moeaki should continue to be fine.

WR - Dwayne Bowe is really good. He fits into that third tier of #1 receivers. Breaston is a good slot guy. What's going on at split end, though? Jon Baldwin, so far...and so far, he's struggled. If Bowe's re-signed, there's the one question mark. If he's not, the unit is garbage. Andy Reid is a good reason for him to stay, but what happens if another team he'd fit well on with a good QB comes along and makes him an offer, like, say, New England? He'd bail for that, I'd think, Andy Reid or no Andy Reid.

OL - Brandon Albert is a free agent, and he's also their best OL. He's going to be in high demand from any number of teams needing a LT. His backup is Donald Stephenson, and he's sucked in the time that he played. Ryan Lilja was young (for an OL) and playing at a high level. He just retired, so they go from a good center to Rodney Hudson. Normally, I'd say "cool story, that'd be fine," but Hudson's coming off of a broken leg, so who knows? Jeff Allen is returning at guard, but he graded out poorly. He was pretty much the only weak link on the line. The right side of the line is strong, but right now it's just a question mark from center all the way over to the blindside.

DL - Two top 15 picks and Ropati Pituaiauiuaiauiauiau. Poe was below average against the run this season. Not so great for a 3-4 nose tackle. He was the worst 3-4 tackle in the league as far as Pass Rushing Productivity. Somehow, he won the Maurkice Pouncey award, though: during every Chiefs broadcast you hear his praises being sung no matter how badly he gets abused. Jackson was about average against the run, but was one of the two lowest-ranked 3-4 DEs in Pass Rushing Productivity. Dorsey is a free agent, but that's ok, since he was bad in all aspects of the game and got hurt halfway through this season. His replacement, Ropati Pwhcowenpjkcnwkjnc, was good against the run, but was the lowest-ranked 3-4 end for Pass Rushing Productivity.

LB - Johnson, Houston, and Hali are beasts, but the other starting ILB came down with a bad case of being dead.

CB - Flowers is a good CB. Arenas is tough and plays hard, but hasn't shown the coverage skills necessary to be a starter...especially in the time after Routt was cut and he had to step up. He was inconsistent in the slot, but they could live with that. Jalil Brown was decent in the dime, but again, when Routt was cut and his reps increased, he got torched. This unit misses Carr a lot. A second outside cornerback is needed badly.

S - Eric Berry is Eric Berry. Kendrick Lewis has his good days and his average days. He isn't a liability.

Looks to me like they have question marks at starting QB, the #1 WR, the #2 WR, the #2 CB, starting ILB, starting LE, starting RE, starting NT, starting LT, starting LG, and starting C

That's 11 problems I have with the roster.

If they re-sign Bowe and Albert, there are only 9 problems. If they re-sign both and Hudson comes back still being good, there are 8 problems. If all of that happens and Baldwin breaks out, there are only 7 problems. If everything I've listed occurs and they draft a good starting QB in a draft everyone seems to hate for QBs, they're still missing 6 pieces...and that's a hell of a lot of ifs.

So, yeah. The roster has pieces to build on, but there's a lot more building needed than people realize.

Ok, my fingers are out of breath. That was some in-depth crap there.

Hogan is only Red and Yellow, brother.

Other than his veins, which bleed red, white, and blue.

ANSWER: even more proof that this team needs to hire Hulk Hogan as head coach.

See? Red and Yellow, just like the Hulk.

I would pay good money to somehow see an early nineties Hulk Hogan coach the chiefs. He would put Mike Singletary to shame, greatest motivational coach of all time.

Well there's no team in the league that's set at every position. I doubt there's one with less than 4. If they have success finding a QB the other holes won't really matter.

I disagree. Some of their holes are REALLY major.

They basically don't have a D line. They have one corner. They have only 40% of an O line if Albert goes off to greener pastures. It's going to take more than a QB. They have a slot receiver and nothing else if Bowe goes for glory. Those are all holes that can kill a team on their own, let alone all together like that.

RGIII wouldn't fix all of that, let alone a Geno Smith.

You could go through every team and find holes if you look hard enough for them. And a lot of these 'holes' are created by your assumptions. But what if Bowe stays? What if Albert stays? And even after taking all of these things into account, the Chiefs are still better off than a lot of teams when you look at there roster for now and the future.

If not, they better not hire Reid.
I think they've already interviewed the Falcons ST coordinator (Keith Armstrong) to meet that requirement.

They have a slot receiver and nothing else if Bowe goes for glory. Those are all holes that can kill a team on their own, let alone all together like that.
a) he won't. he will be franchised if the new FO can't work out a deal.

b) we had injuries to our line but it's VERY solid. Jeff Allen got a lot of experience and Rodney Hudson looked great before he got injured. OL is one of the spots I'm not overly concerned about.

This is fair.

RB - Yeah, obviously no complaints about Jamaal Charles. Hillis kind of blows as the backup, but Charles makes up for it.

Agreed.

TE - Moeaki should continue to be fine.

Boss will likely retire so I hope we can grab someone to back him up.

Bowe leaving is a real possibility and the worst thing that could happen for a young QB coming in here. I'm hoping Reid can convince him to stay. Bowe has said he wants to stay in KC and I have no reason to doubt that.. yet. McCluster is nothing special and Breaston is probably gone after this year anyway. He was a healthy scratch at the end of the year. WR is a need, no question.

Branden Albert won't leave KC. Stephenson was ok as a backup but struggled, so I wouldn't feel comfortable with him in a starting role just yet. Ryan Lilja was overrated by many, but he was versatile. Solid player, nothing special. Rodney Hudson played really well before his injury, not concerned about him returning. Jeff Allen shouldn't have seen the field as a rookie and he struggled, but not too worried about him going forward. The right side is strong.

Poe played pretty well for a rookie NT, but I can't disagree with the rest of that. Our DL, outside of Poe, is hot garbage. Tyson Jackson played well towards the end of the season, but he's nothing to write home about. Dorsey is decent at best and won't be back anyway. I am excited to see what Allen Bailey has in the tank, but he was injured. Ropati is solid depth but that's it.

I honestly don't get how anyone can list starting NT as a glaring need when we just drafted a guy to play that spot last year. Everyone knew Poe needed development, and everyone knows that NTs don't come in and light it up right away. He has developed well so far, but you've gotta give him more than a year before you call him a bust.

LB - Johnson, Houston, and Hali are beasts, but the other starting ILB came down with a bad case of being dead.

Belcher wasn't very good when he was alive anyway. That spot has been a weak link for a while now, but the rest of those guys are studly.

A second corner is one of the top needs. Can't argue that. Some people like Arenas, I think he's a nickle at best.

S - Eric Berry is Eric Berry. Kendrick Lewis has his good days and his average days. He isn't a liability.

Kendrick Lewis is a liability, but only because of health issues. If he could stay healthy I'd feel a lot better about him going forward. Eric Berry is beastly.

Looks to me like they have question marks at starting QB, the #1 WR, the #2 WR, the #2 CB, starting ILB, starting LE, starting RE, starting NT, starting LT, starting LG, and starting C.

Realistically, of that list, I'll give you: QB, WR, CB, ILB, LE and that's it. The rest of the pieces we have young drafted players or people coming back from injury.
That's how bored I was. I can't sleep.

Which I find odd seeing as how they have drafted so many 3-4 DE's in the top 10. Well maybe not so many, but it seems like from drafting Dorsey, Tyson Jackson, and Poe, you wouldn't hear comments like these anymore. What a waste that turned out to be.
