Do people think he'll come out after next season?
If so, Dallas needs to trade their 1st this year for one next year! PANIC MODE!!!

If he has a similar year, and there's no reason to think he won't, it would be stupid for him to stay.

Well you have the whole he only played two years argument, but that didn't keep Mark Sanchez from being a high pick.
In your favor is you have two guys out there in Clowney and Bridgewater who may go before Manziel so the chances of Jerry trading up would probably be pretty good.
I'm always for guys staying as long as they can but with the hype over Johnnyzzzz he most likely will come out.

If Manziel ever hopes to be solid as a pro, there's no way he jumps from A&M after only two years starting if he still has eligibility left.
He's in the 2015 draft at the earliest IMO.

Eh. He already has a Heisman. If he's slated to go top 5, which he probably will be, it's been proven time and time again that it's wise to go pro.

When has it been proven to go early at the Qb position?
I'm just looking for examples, cause I've seen more failures when you leave early.

Comparison. I see him like a genetically enhanced Jeff Garcia. Same size but Manziel's arm is stronger and he's a better runner/scrambler, which is saying something because Garcia could skip.

Leinart and Locker were both projected to go top 5 their junior years, and came back for senior year and dropped in draft stock. While Barkley's draft stock has plummeted this year, not sure it would have been better last year with Luck and Rg3 in the mix.
As for QBs who came out early, there's plenty who were correct to do so. I doubt Vince Young could have improved his draft stock staying another year, same with Bradford, Newton, Luck, RG3, etc. It's always best to go pro when you have the best draft position possible. And the old adage that players should play longer in college to "get more experience" is bunk; the longer players (especially QBs) stay in college, the more ingrained their bad habits will become. Playing on a pro team is a far better learning experience than staying in college another year.
As for Mr Football, unless A&M wins the NCAA Championship next year, I suspect he'll stick with A&M another 2 seasons and then enter the draft.

What??
They didn't leave early? they both stayed for their senior years.
Colt also stayed.
I'm looking for Jrs/R-SO that did good when they went pro.
Oh you mean dropping since they stayed, I thought you meant they did good since they left early. Well with pay scale doesn't matter anymore.

You aren't understanding my point.
It would behoove JM to leave early after next season. When your stock is top 10 there is no reason to risk A) injury or B) a falling stock.
RS-SOPH I can't think of any. But of course no RS FROSH has ever won the Heisman...
As for Jrs, there are tons.
There is no precedence with this kid though so I don't know why you are trying to come up with some similar path some completely different player took that will somehow determine his destiny or impact his prospects in any way...

I thought you meant it was proven that guys that leave early have success in the NFL.

Just heard a quote today that Bob Stoops said Manziel was the greatest college QB he's ever seen...

How many NFL QBs left after only two years starting in college who turned out to be good NFL QBs??
People are mentioning Leinart because his draft stock fell after he stayed another year. But would he have been a better pro if he left after winning the Heisman??
Would Barkley be a better pro if he'd left last year??
Manziel needs at least two more seasons as a starter for A&M.

One thing I thought about watching Wilson yesterday was how much he resembled Manziel when standing in the pocket. I'm pretty sure that Wilson has a better arm, he is a downright good arm, but Manziel has uncannny accuracy on some really difficult throws.
At this stage of their careers, Wilson, as a freshman, was looking like he might be a pretty good college QB but wasn't even being considered for the NFL (partly due to baseball, but also because people kept saying, "if only he were 3-4 inches taller...") while Manziel is being looked at as a legit NFL prospect.

Yeah, but NOBODY was ever saying either one of these guys would EVER be NFL QBs... you know, due to the fact that they can't actually throw the ball.
