So, the owners wanted a 60 mil salary cap. The players wanted a 70 mil salary cap. The final number is 64.3
Good thing we wasted half the season so that you could meet almost exactly in the middle...

That wasn't even a key issue until the past week/couple of days. Not even the tip of the iceberg. It was mostly about HRR issues at first and then later about contract issues. Still took way longer than it should have but as usual when you give people an absolute deadline there's no pressure to get anything done until you get there.

That's not true. Revenue sharing % was a big part of it, but the salary cap was part of the overall argument.

I guess salary cap is really just an extension of the HRR argument because they only had to change it to make it proportional to the new split.

Annoyed, but excited nonetheless.

If the Wild were the Wild of old I wouldn't watch a game out of principle, but I'm not sure I can do that with the kind of expectations they have this year. Ughhhhh.....

Thank god hockey is back so I can finally watch Tyler Seguin and the filthy ginger Dougie Hamilton take over the NHL. I need to get me some B's tickets now.

20 team auction draft. The goal was to get 10 forwards and 1 goalie . I think I was able to gather a pretty good team!
Evander Kane
Ilya Kovalchuk
Henrik Sedin
Max Pacioretty
Rick Nash
John Tavares
Mike Richards
Kris Versteeg
Mark Scheifele
Ryan O'Reilly
Jaroslav Halak

I think it all rests on Jimmy Howard. The Wings will still score plenty. They have 16 NHL-caliber forwards, basically (albeit one too few Top-6 guys). The defense is going to be an issue though without Lidstrom and Stuart.

No such thing. That .261 shooting percentage is only going to rise.

I guess the Sabres home opener is on the 20th, but I don't think there is a schedule yet.
