The fact the Browns won 5 games with that roster is almost a miracle. But keep firing and churning through coaches.

That was my first thought as well. That defense was clearly the best thing that team had going, I have no idea who their DC was or if he's still there, but if I was a Browns fan id want him back.

The Chud hire seems pretty stupid on the surface, but who knows? I thought the Mike McCarthy hire was awful at the time too.
The good news for the Browns is that if they want to go back to a 3-4 they should be in pretty good shape to get a good pass-rusher at #6.

The roster isn't bad . . .
And the teams they beat? The Bengals, a Roethlisberger-less Steelers, the Chargers, the Raiders and the Chiefs. Impressive, not?
Anyone who actually watched the Browns play wanted Shurmur fired. He was awful.

Haden was suspended to start the season. They gave him Weeden and those extremely raw wide receivers. Gordon and Benjamin have talent but that is one of the worst group of wide receivers in the NFL. He was doomed from the start.
I don't really care. I'd give the guy three years unless you can land a big fish like KC did with Reid. I just think there is too much instability in the NFL right now because teams move on too quickly and there is an insane pressure to win now.
Also kind of funny that he's already been fired by the Browns twice before not that is relevant or means anything.

Jimmy Johnson tried to troll everyone on twitter, saying that Trestman was a done deal in Chicago.
Trestman said he hasn't heard a word since his interview. The Bears said that they're sticking to the process and will do a second round of interviews after they finish the first round this weekend.
Rick Dennison is being talked to today. Bevell and Arians this weekend.
We don't need that Tebow-loving Trestman anywhere near the Bears.

And let's hope Trestman stays far far away. I'm very much considering taking a step back from football for a while if he comes in and does the unthinkable.

The Bears look like they don't know what they're doing. They fire their coach after going 10-6, gut a very good coaching staff from top to bottom, and now theyre interviewing everybody under the sun to be their next head coach.

Supposedly, they're using the Al Davis strategy of interviewing everyone under the sun to pick their brains for ideas which can then be utilized by whoever they do hire.
Assuming that Jimmy Johnson is just a moron, the favorite looks like Dennison. I'd personally like to see Arians.

I think Ken Whistenhunt or Bruce Arians would be the best fit.

Arians would be a fine choice for me, but I am practically driving the Dennison bandwagon. He just seems made for it.

A bad in-game coach who hired four very bad O coordinators. Not going to win a super bowl being a defense-only team nowadays. Lovie couldn't even get us into the playoffs with regularity.

The only coach that has been fired was Lovie. All others remain under contract until teh new HC decides who he wants to keep...and only half of them are good.

I don't understand why it's bad to have a large pool of candidates to hire from...?

Any chance the bears hire mike Sullivan? I hope not but he's a good coach. He looks like a much better option than Trestman. Natural born leader.

Haven't heard his name much since the initial interview. Nothing is out of the question though.

I heard that the interview went 6 hours. The gm and sully both come from military backgrounds and they really liked him. Experience as a playcallet isn't on his side but he'll be a head coach. It's not if but when.

He's getting his feet wet down in Florida before a move back up to the big boys when Coughlin decides to put his whistle down for good.

I'd say there's definitely a chance for one of the less talked about O coordinators like Sullivan or Clements to get it. Maybe even Bevell; I could see why Emery might take a shot on him with the similarities between Favre and Cutler's playstyles.

Yeah word is the Giants want Sullivan to be the replacement for Coughlin if the timing fits. Problem is Sullivan might have a head coahcing job before then.

I want our next coach to be a defensive coach. I want stability on defense for a change.
