In shock at first about the hire, but learning more about him that makes me intrigued.

Chud's "innovations" are overrated. They only worked for a single season and he was either extremely hesitant or just unable to further adapt. I was a big fan of him coming into the season, but watching his offense completely fail and seeing him do nothing to fix it makes me glad he's been hired away.

Saying it completely failed is an overstatement. Carolina went through its rough times at the beginning of the year but finished pretty brilliantly. He adjusted.

The zone-read completely failed this season, and yet for some reason we continued to rely heavily on it for quite some time. And our offense, even at the end, wasn't "brilliant". It was very one-dimensional, completely living and dieing with Cam Newton's play. Much of the problem with our run game was based simply on the fact that we never even tried to establish one, despite having two starting caliber running backs. You could argue that all offenses need quality quarterback play to be successful, but with the talent we have in our backfield, we shouldn't need Cam Newton to play spectacularly to have a chance.

Cleveland does become one of the more intriguing off-season storylines. Should be interesting to see what they do at QB. They do have some talent on both sides of the ball so I honestly don't think it would be out of the realm for them to go QB in the first round.
It should also be interesting to see how this move impacts the Panthers and Newton.

Right now the main options seem to be either Hue Jackson or Mike Shula.

Rob Ryan was hired by the Rams.
Not sure I understand that one. A 3-4 guy. Our defense is built for the 43.

I hope to god you guys aren't trying to move to a 3-4...your defense is gonna be a special unit soon.

Yeah you're right. Rams aren't switching to the 34.

He's not strictly a 3-4 guy, it's just what he prefers. He had a 4-3 when he coached with the Raiders (except for a portion of 2004).

I'm huge on the hire. We got a young guy who's an offensive mind and WANTS to be in Cleveland. Not only that, but from what I understand he's an extremely hard worker and a very smart guy, so we'll see what he can do with a young core.
I'm excited.

Rams D is going to be lights out good next season. Wow 49ers, Hawks and Rams all could have top 10 D's in the league.
