That story from ND makes no sense.

because a death creates a bigger story. People get dumped/break up all the time and isn't a big deal, but the DEATH of a GF....now that's juicy
Te'o knows whats up

That has to be a lie. Te'o talked about seeing this girl in Hawaii and California. If they truely were involved in a hoax, then these people had to have spent a ton of money on plane tickets just to pull of a hoax. I don't buy it.

But isn't the death of somebody more factual/can easily be looked into, whereas a simple breakup is not?
Either way, I'd imagine this is all of us right now:

Just because he talked about it doesn't mean it actually happened. I think it's pretty clear the thing is fake, since even Notre Dame is acknowledging it.

No, I realize it's fake. I'm just saying the statement is BS. Te'o isn't a victim like they are saying.

The way he "met" her was seeing her at the Stanford game and giving her his number. There's no possible way he can say he had no idea.

So you're saying he'll limp to the huddle then run full speed when the play starts. That would actually be pretty cool.

Haha this is weird/confusing. I've never seen anything like this with a player in the draft. Curious to see if it impacts his draft stock or not.

Well either way it looks bad on him.
If true all the "intangibles" go out the window. How is he meant to be respected as a defensive leader now?
If false then he's pretty stupid and gullible. The bright side of this way is there are a whole lot of stupid and gullible NFL players

Yeah, very true. It will be interesting to see if teams really care enough to overlook him as a player.
I'm just speaking as a human being, but if he intentionally did all this as a publicity stunt I would touch the guy in the draft. I understand a lot of teams will, but that's something I wouldn't want on my team.

Yeah, I think this kills his draft stock. No way you spend a 1st rounder on him now. I'd rather have a guy that does drugs, honestly.

His dad also said she visited him in Hawaii. Why say that if she didn't? So either she spent a ton of money visiting Hawaii and they just had no idea she was scamming them or the Te'o family is a bunch of liars.

Indeed. I'll wait for all the details and obviously this story needs to flesh itself out a bit but it doesn't look good.
