I'm not sure what to make of Hoosiers so far this season.
Their whole pre-season hype was predicated on a very good recruiting class providing depth for a very good returning group of players.
The upperclassmen have been playing excellent, but the freshmen haven't really impressed so far.
Yogi Ferrell is contributing as a playmaker, but even he has struggled with his shot (better lately though). While Hollowell, Perea and Jurkin still look raw.
The good news is Oladipo, Sheehey and Abell are significantly better this year.

No, when your final argument comes down to "your coach is a dick", I'm pretty sure I'm not the one who has failed to put together a sound argument. There is no reason for me to waste my time responding to things like that.
I'm really trying to figure out what your deal is with Howland. To be honest with you I'm not even a huge Howland fan, but your ridiculous arguments against the program have even me defending him. I do appreciate him for the success he has brought UCLA in the past, but I wouldn't be that surprised or saddened if he gets canned after this year. But damn...he must have really done something terrible to you personally in order to cause your vendetta against him.
Then again you also have that vendetta against teams with talented, young players. Maybe its just you?

I think Indiana is going to win the championship. I've been impressed with what I've seen from them.

The current rules are allowing people like John Calipari to make a joke out of college basketball. I'm glad that Kentucky isn't doing well this season. They really need to change the rules. Either come out of high school, or go to college for two years.
Also, Howland could give a sh*t less about his players. He makes them schedule a meeting just to talk with him. He treats the star players differently than the other players. He allowed Reeves Nelson to bully people to the point that they wanted out. Gregg Poppovich treats all of the players the same.
I'm a UNLV fan, and Dave Rice has an open door policy. That's how it should be.
Finally, you're not willing to admit how f*cked up UCLA is as a program right now. It's not like the story relies on one person. Many people were interviewed to write that story. Your UCLA only had a top two recruiting class because they're UCLA. If it was a mid-major school, they'd be struggling mightily right now.

I agree on all accounts. Oladipo's improvement has been excellent. In addition to developing a solid jumper he has become the best perimeter defender in the B1G.
Zeller hasn't been dominant like I thought he would be. Not knocking him, I like him as a player and person (met him along with several other IU players). But his lack of rebounding concerns me for tournament play. I could definitely see them being upset in an earlier round by a team with strength and size.
They have immense potential, an excellent blend of experience and young talent, rock solid shooting and good defense. Not too many holes when you think about it. But Zeller being too unselfish a lot and lack of board crashing is an issue, imo
And by the way pierce2, you have made nothing but excellent points and arguments and it's simply not reasonating with him. I think you're wasting your time.

Tom Crean is a stud! He's what a college basketball coach should be.

I don't even like Howland all that much, but damn he really grinds your gears doesn't he?

IU has not looked like a top 5 team so far in this game.
Christian Watford is one of the most frustrating players to watch. So much talent, but rarely plays at his best (the 2 games vs. Kentucky last year were arguably his best).

Wisco is really knocking down their open shots when they get the opportunity
edit: and right as I say that they brick one.

I never know what to expect with the Johnnies this year. They're either really good or really bad. We're so young.

The Gophers starting 5 is so solid, it's too bad every bench player we have is such a catastrophe.

Of course Austin Hollins remembers how to shoot when he plays Michigan.

We need to stop with these goddamn line changes. Tubby subs in our 5 useless bench players and we turn the ball over literally every time down the floor.
