This is such bull. The city of Sacramento has a stellar arena deal in place for the Kings to stay. Sacramento has done everything the NBA asked them to, but because the Maloofs are broke ass mother *******, the Kings are leaving Sacramento outright.

Yeah, I'm not at all saying the city Seattle doesn't deserve a team, but what I am saying is that they don't deserve the Kings.

Sacramento has done absolutely everything they have asked them to. They have a fantastic fan base and they have an arena plan in place. They even have buyers in place that could put real financial backing behind the purple and black, even to match the Hansen-Ballmer group. Seattle should not be coming after the Kings at all.

Doesn't mean he'll stop shooting at the rate he does. His efficiency is going back to where it was last year, which means he won't be helping offset his ****** defense much longer. I do think that given a decent coach, the team might be better off without Kobe and running a straight system with Nash being the ball dominator playing off of Pau and Dwight, with Meeks being the shooter and Artest/Clark being the defenders they need.

The Bobcats have outsold Sacramento for the past 5 & 1/2 years, the right team is moving idk why everyone thinks there are better options

There are a number of teams I'd move before the Kings, sucks for them. I've actually been by the arena when I go to Sacramento, it's a cool area.

Bobcats; self explanatory
Milwaukee; If Brandon Jennings wasn't on that team, I'd forget they were even a team.
Toronto: Canada deserves no team

Maybe even Cleveland all those team over Kings

They've also out performed the Kings by like 20 games during that time.

Oh yeah, and during that time the Kings have been bottom-feeders in the NBA? They were in the top 3 or 4 in average ticket price up until a year or two ago. Also during that time, the Kings ownership was so averse to spending money they actually had to pay out an end of year check to each player in order to meet the salary floor. This was AFTER they had made a useless trade to take on salary just to cut the acquired player the same day.

Also during this time, the Kings were actively attempting to move the team to any location other than Sacramento, including Virginia Beach which ranks over 20 spots below Sacramento in media market rankings.

All the while the city of Sacramento had come to an agreement with the Maloofs to fund a $400 million new arena largely using public money and money from AEG. The one snag for this arena deal? $1.65 million in predevelopment costs that the Maloofs would have to pay out of pocket to get the ball rolling. The Maloofs chose to reneg on this deal a week after this happened.



At this time the city of Sacramento also came up with multiple big hitters who were willing to buy the franchise in the event the Maloofs did not find this a suitable arrangement. The Maloofs consistently stated they were not willing to negotiate and the Kings were not up for sale. Meanwhile, it turns out they have gone behind the backs of the city, Stern and the entire National Basketball Association and chosen to negotiate the sale of the team to another group that is out of the area.

The entire last 6 years have been a constant F U from the Maloofs to the city of Sacramento. And the city has continued to fight for the franchise to keep them.

And do I really need to bring back the statistic that the city of Sacramento has 2 of the top 5 sellout streaks in NBA history, including when the team was absolutely horrible? Only Portland and Chicago take the other 3 spots. This occurred even when the Kings were among the worst in the league.

So pardon me if I don't believe you that Charlotte is a better market for the NBA than Sacramento based off 1 cherry picked statistic without the context behind it.

The city of Sacramento is fervently behind this franchise and will support it. But the Maloofs have asked the city to be faithful, do the dishes, fold the laundry and scrub the house from floor to ceiling while the Maloofs have chosen to sleep around with other women and abuse the city.

Sorry if the fans won't kiss the shoes of these broke ass owners.

Edit: oh yeah, when the news first broke that Hansen was attempting to buy the Kings, a movement was started to get season ticket pledges if the Kings were sold to a local group with the new arena deal in place. In less than 5 days, the fans of Sacramento had pledged 4400 season tickets--a value of just about $16.5 million.

But Sacramento is less viable than Charlotte.
