wow that's it? Poor Arizona
I'm just glad Texas didn't jump in on that. If that was the cost, they should have EASILY been able to get J-up. Glad they didn't

Between this and the trade for Didi "Derek Jeter 2.0" Gregorius....

Sure hope the Upton's come in and hit. If not it's gonna be a long season.

Wow that's an awful trade for the D'Backs. Towers is ruining that franchise.

It's a good thing they signed Cody Ross. He'll replace Upton's production just fine!

when you see some of these GM's and the moves they make, you can't help but think to yourself: "If these guys can run an MLB team....how hard can it be?"

I really do feel that way Blood. It's like Towers came in thinking I'm going to kill off the fanbase by making incredibly dumb moves. How can he turn down the M's package and accept that one?
Fenikz better be high when he wakes up and reads this.

Well, to be fair to Towers, he didn't reject that M's offer. It was accepted/agreed upon. J-up is the one who nixed the deal since the M's were one of the 4 teams on his no trade list
Still though, how do you go from negotiating a package like that from one team, only to just settle for what Atlanta offered? It was like they just wanted to rid themselves of J-up as soon as possible
This about sums this deal up

Im pleased about the Prado/Upton deal for the braves Prado is a solid player who every team needs but I wouldnt wanna pay him the kind of $ that he was going to get in a long term deal.

So ATL has an entire OF that could very well give them 20+ HR and 20+ SB each. I wonder if a team has ever gotten that production before from all 3 OF spots in a season

Wow I can't believe Frank Wren managed to pull this off. I love the Uptons, its going to be real fun watching the braves. We got Heyward in the outfield with them as well, suck it Fenikz. :)

Haha no he's not. You man crush on Upton forever and now you say Prado is as good? Also Upton's upside is way more than Prado considering the age difference. Prado is going to extend with you guys though.

well that's obvious, its a horrible trade without an extension but for the next few years their value is the same in my eyes
and I think everyone got over their man crush on Upton after last year

Very different players, but...Prado's career OPS+ is 109, whereas J-up's is 117, so it's not as big of a difference RIGHT NOW
J-up is 4 years younger though and you figure his best years are still ahead of him, so he'll likely widen that gap in the long run

seems likely that they will get an extension worked out(since a lot of media is already saying so), so I wouldn't worry much there
