I'm wanting to build a GFX/gaming rig, and was hoping someone could help me out. Money really isn't too much of an object as I've been saving up for it for quite some time, but I'd still prefer to get the best bang for my buck unless it's just absolutely worth it or smarter to pay more or go bigger. I'd greatly appreciate any advice, suggestions for specs or brands, and any other places to learn more.

My budget is $4,500. Few things:

-You definitely do not have to spend $4500 to get a really good gaming / graphic design PC. You can get by on a lot less than that, especially if you find some really good deals and some rebates.

-I'd suggest a dual monitor setup almost from the get go for what you're planning on doing with it. And I don't know if you have a nice tablet or not, but if not I'd factor that into the cost as well. You can get a decent desk for cheaptown, so you can skimp there if you want.

-A LOT of us are super knowledgeable about building PCs, and there are about a billion websites you can read up on to teach yourself. It really isn't very difficult, but you want a basic understanding before you start ANY build.

-I'd definitely suggest building your own than just buying a pre-built one. I know a lot of people that went that route (like alienware or cyberpower) and have had nothing but problems.

If you need advice, have build questions, etc, I'm just a PM away.

Also, Microcenter is another great place to look for deals. I got a steal on my processor from going there.

How much of a hurry are you to get your PC set up, TH? If you're patient you can build an elite computer and save a ton of money in doing so. Sometimes you have to wait for the right deals though.

I mainly use newegg and as Forenci said just wait for deals but you can certainly use http://pcpartpicker.com/ if you want to build something ASAP for the best value.

I'd recommend doing a lot of research on finding out what you want performance wise versus best value. Tom's Hardware is an excellent resource for helping you narrow your focus :)
