QB Hand Size
I was just wondering if anyone has past QB hand size measurements anywhere. I'd like to see the size of highly draft QB's in the past as well as current NFL starters. Just wondering if there is any correlation between hand size and success. I like what I'm seeing and hearing about Tyler Wilson but his hand size seems to be a concern.

Recent belief is that "average" QB handsize is between 9 1/4" - 9 1/2"

Smith's problem was never small hands, it was his small balls.

Yup, it's hand width.

This seems relatively small to me, I am 5'9" and my hands measure 9 1/16", I would think the difference would be much bigger for Qbs that average around 6'3".
I remember there was a big deal when Vick came out, I think his measured just slightly over 8.

I'm 6'2", and my hands measure 8 7/8". I was clearly never going to be an NFL QB.

I'm 6'1" and mine are 9 1/4".
I can be QB plz?
I think it's overblown. Kurt Warner had the hands of a smurf.

As long as they can grip the ball it really doens't matter.

If it's hand width, I have 10.5 inch hands (5'10", so I'd have to be Russel Wilson like :/)...

Exactly. Its a complete none factor really. The only time it gets brought up is if a guy can't hold on to the ball at all and he has smaller hands. Is like arguing if a OL wears size 14 instead of 15 because the bigger foot would give more traction.

Qbs with small hands have tendency of wobbling football. Receivers would have a difficulty to catch wobbling football. Also, they do throw a floater.
A small matter of a concern toward qb. Despite having big hands, Mark Sanchez does throw sailers and fumbles too much.

I think I read somewhere that finger length is more important for gripping a football than hand width.

In theory, the less of your palm that touches the football, the more consistency in accuracy you can achieve. If you're able to control the football with just your fingers/fingertips, there is less surface area of the hand making contact with the ball and affecting trajectory upon release.

Culpepper had small hands for the NFL I believe. He used to fumble a lot.

Tebow has huge hands. He still can't throw and he fumbled a lot in 2011.

Personally, I look at hand size when looking at WRs more than QBs.

Wilson's hands are like 10.25 so youve got him beat there already. Give it a shot....

Jon Kitna seemed to have small hands as he fumbled a lot and had a lot of odd looking throws. His nickname on forums was 'kitten mittens'
