If you like serial killer / profiler stuff, this is right up your alley. I'm a big fan of this kinda stuff (I watch Criminal Minds religiously) so this totes did it for me.

I caught this one on DVR as well. Looks like it will be entertaining at the least so I'll keep it on the DVR list.

Has anyone watched Banshee? I saw the first two episodes on demand and thought it could be a solid show.

Like every other show this year, I have not seen any of this season. But I've been hearing great things, and not just from the usual people/publications that talk it up.

I hope they don't make Crassus into a "villain" and make him more of an opponent in this season of Spartacus. I like that they've at least acknowleged Spartacus' selfishness to some extent already as well, but I'm not too concerned because it isn't exactly a story or drama-driven show.

That was part of its charm though. And I find it hard to believe it will be better without Dan Harmon. They might be able to keep it as a quality show, but not make it better.

History is full of innovators that were beat at their own game once they blazed the trail. Harmon got too masturbatory with some of the writing/direction in later seasons. Yes, to some extent the inside jokes are what make the show. But that can't be all the show is about. If you recycle your own air too long you'll eventually suffocate.

Then I'd rather it suffocated. I don't want another bland 30 minute comedy. This isn't CBS, where churning out cookie cutter comedy is a staple. Community was great because it was different and because of how meta it was. Changing that up to be just like every other comedy will kill its appeal to its small but loyal fanbase.

Well I don't think anyone wants what you described. I would like it to be improved, not turned into 2 Broke Girls. I don't think the only two options are "keep it the exact same" or "make it a CBS comedy".

Thing is that what they did n what made them so great was also incredible unique and tough to replicate. I guess I just don't trust Harmon's successors to be able to keep that going and improve it. I'm still very excited just cause I love the show so god damn much I'll watch it to the bitter end, but I'm very nervous.

I am intentionally going to try to like the show. I think if I watch it expecting to see what is missing with Harmon gone, I'll find it. Even if it isn't really there. I want to keep liking the show so I'm going to try. I suppose it's possible that it'll be so different that I won't be able to handle it. But I think if you expect the worst, you'll find it.

I feel like I'm stuck in a vacuum. I very much know and understand that every season and episode of Californication is the same exact thing, but I can't stop watching it. I don't even feel like it's a good show anymore. I think it's just amazing that they've been able to consistently come up with different words for the same puns for this long. I think I'm just mesmerized by that at this point... That and once I'm 3 Seasons into a show, I have to see it through.

Luckily, I only made it through 2 seasons and 3 episodes of Heroes (even then I'd known I should have stopped after the first season since the second one started).

I loved Californication until season 4 happened. Then I completely forgot to follow up on it.
