Senior Bowl Over, Raiders Draft Drafted!
Here's what I think is very possible at this point in time. Raiders are in a very good position at #3. There appears to be a very good chance that either Luke Joeckel or Geno Smith will be available at our pick which would be attractive to other teams such as Phily, Arizona and Buffalo. I hereby mock a trade with Arizona for their 1st, 2nd, and 5th in 2013 and a 5th in 2014. With that, the Raiders draft:
Round I- DE Ziggy Ansah. Raiders get that difference maker in the front 4.
Round II- DT Kawann Short. Short will start along with budding star Desmond Bryant to creat havoc in opposing backfields.
Round III- OG Kyle Long. I was unsure of him at first, but this guy looked great at LG in the Senior Bowl. With his lack of arm length, this looks like a hand in glove fit to replace Cooper Carlise!
Round IV- MLB Kevin Reddick. Dennis Allen reportedly loves the guy after coaching him in the Senior Bowl. He fills the need at MLB after McClain pending dismissal.
Round V- RT Menelik Watson. This guy is a a perfect fit as the Raiders need a replacement for the aging and oft injured Kahliff Barnes.
Round VI- S Cooper Tayor. This guy made an impression on scouts in the East West Shrine game. Still, a 6'5" 230 pound white safety isn't going to get the benefit of the doubt and I see him being available late in the draft. We haven't had an enforcer type at S for a long time.
Round VII- CB Marcus Cromartie. I don't know much about him other than he is 6'1" and his last name is Cromartie. Both positve factor's when it comes to DBs! I also know he had 12 pass break ups last year.
Round VII- OLB Cameron Lawrence. The defensive overhaul continues. Depth at LB is a huge concern. Lawrence displayed very high production breaking 120 tackles in each of his last two seasons.
Also, keep in mind the Raiders will likely have two 6th rounders coming at compensation picks.
