NFL Draft Tracker Rankings Updated
I see the official NFL draft grades are up.
http://www.nfl.com/draft/2013/tracke...-grade-input:1
Pretty interesting to see Patterson so high, that's almost where they had Blackmon last year.

Mingo at #4 is rich for my tastes. 4.5 sacks last year as a left end who is projected to need a positional change at the next level due to his lack of size? Lemonier is sort of the same for me, wasn't effective rushing the passer this season and has a questionable build as well.

I feel like Keenan Allen should be higher.

I love Warmack, but #1? If he was the #1 player in the draft, regardless of him being a guard he would be a surefire top 10 pick, not a fringe top 10, most likely #15...

Warmack has pretty much always been the top prospect

Damonster seems extremely underrated. Also the first time I've seen a first round grade on Lemonier. Completely agree that Patterson should be that high though, at least.

I see no way that Lemonier should be a top 10 player. He has no counter moves as a pass rusher and wins with athleticism. He is also a pretty bad run defender. He gives up the edge way too often being too aggressive and attacks the inside shoulder of the OT too often and gets lost inside. He doesn't use his hands well, doesn't have a strong base and has poor recognition skills. He is a solid 2nd rounder for me based on pass rushing upside but he is far from a finished product who needs a lot of coaching

After a close examination of the player profiles on NFL.com, I came to the conclusion that these rankings are pre season and don't reflect the current rankings. Still an interesting starting point.

Impossible. Now way on Earth Ansah was rated #22 preseason. Scott didn't even know who he was if I am not mistake.

I'm very curious who heads up these scouting reports and ranks them. They're often very different from the other NFL.com and NFLN analysts takes on guys.

It means you aren't drafting them based solely on college production. JPP had 6.5 sacks in his last year.

Some of the player profiles are from before the season, or sometimes everything is updated but the overview or something will say "if they can continue on the success of their junior year they can expect to be a picked in the top 100"
But I think they are pretty updated. I don't know how much they will adjust these up to the draft, but last year they were pretty accurate on most things

i think lemonier shouldve been higher on the board preseason than he was at the end of the season, he was underwhelming (and i dont have a clue what he is doing that high up their board)

...and they still have Shayne Skov in there. He's staying in school. And Arthur Brown at the top of the LB list seems a bit of a stretch.

I understand that, but he was playing with a 1st round DT and two DTs that will be drafted. He wasn't see a lot of double teams. And aside from production, his game and his body needs more development. I don't see how his ranking his warranted.

The 4.5 sacks mean little to me. I believe Clay Matthews also had 4.5 sacks in 2008. Aldon Smith had 6 sacks in 2010. Teams look at the player and his skills that can translate to the NFL. Maybe the scheme did not help him in college, or maybe he created pressure and forced a lot of quick throws without getting the sack. Look at the QBs; some are extremely productive in a certain scheme in college but their skills don't translate to the NFL. Mingo looks like a natural 3-4 OLB to me.

These rankings are updated. Matt Barkley was probably ranked very high before the season, much higher than Geno Smith, and Cordarelle Patterson came from JUCO. Eric Fisher also would not be that high before the season. Shariff Floyd up, Manti Te'o down. The whole thing looks updated to me.

Might want to come to a different conclusion. NFL.com had Patterson at #11 before he even played a single snap of D1 football?

Some players still don't have a grade (Eddie Lacy is one of them).
