It's funny because there are g y guys in the lockerroom all the time at my gym, but I just don't think about it. It's not like they're c ckwatching or anything obvious.

If that g y dude is a pro bowler or QB, I think most players would adjust.
G y dudes are still men, I don't get the big deal unless he's grabbing on you.

No reports about enraged white women. Artie Lange asked him how many white women he planned on fu**ing before the game. Culliver said none. He "can't be fu**ing no white women before the Super Bowl."

Just another case of ignorant youth not knowing how to shut up when being baited to reveal how ignorant you are. Shame on him.

There was some speculation that Kwame was ***, and I always had a strong hunch he was.

Now we just have to wait for Jeff Garcia to come out of the closet. I'm sure he'll write a book about it, though.

Yeah, Kwame Harris was a "semi-out" player. I think he was outed by some Hollywood rag in 2007 or 2008.

I think the difference is that it's pretty clear that Culliver didn't mean any harm there. I think the only reason the word "white" was in his response is because Artie said it in the first place. He was just trying to say he wasn't looking to get laid because he's focused on the Super Bowl. At least, I would hope that's what he meant....

You can use the same exact reasoning for the "***" comments.

Ignorance is ignorance. Ignorance doesn't necessarily equate to outright bigotry.

Culliver's comments are solidly ignorant, but I am not certain they were said with chosen hatred.

I'm not trying to defend the guy. At best, he's an idiot. But I think there's a pretty clear difference there. The message he sent in response to the first question was clearly intolerant and ignorant. The second was the message he SHOULD have been sending, he just repeated a poor choice of words. I don't think anyone would look at those comments and surmise that he hates white women. Just that he's not trying to sleep with them before the Super Bowl.

Edit: Actually, I misread what you were saying. Maybe he's not intolerant so much as incredibly stupid. I just don't think the two responses are equal.

The only reason I find it necessary to defend *** people is that others find it necessary to do the exact opposite. I mean, I still call my buddies **** when they're acting like ****, something I'm sure the LGBwhateverthehellit'scalled would be up in arms about. I'm not trying to eradicate all naughty words, but for ****'s sake, is it too much to ask to not openly announce your hatred for a group of human beings?

Not to mention, this is a story about a guy trying to steal another guy's underwear for pouring soy sauce on his rice. And the the only jokes people could come up with were about *** people having lisps? Are you kidding me?

I agree. I didn't really say I had any issue with him being flamed. He very clearly earned it. I just hope it's a more useful springboard that pushes the NFL to have one of it's "Ride the wave of public opinion" moments and put something together for player education instead of it being a simple flame fest targeting one dumbass.
