He had no reason to let Joseph walk other than not wanting to spend to keep him.

Except you are completely viewing it in a vacuum. The player has to want to stay. Joseph didn't. It has been well circulated that Brown and co offered a contract very similar to the one he got in Houston but Houston's was more guaranteed so he took it.
You seriously have me defending Mike Brown of all people.

I wasn't aware of that. That sucks for Cinncy. Imagine how good that defense could've been if he was still there.

I think he was pissed when they extended Leon Hall over him.
But in hindsight, Im kind of glad he left. Our coverage really didn't take a huge hit. And we will need every penny to keep Andre Smith, Geno Atkins and AJ Green around.

Ok, that makes sense because they haven't filled the DC spot yet. So that means, redskins 34, Dallas 43 now, Giants 43, and Eagles switching to a 34.

Appears they will switch to a 34 but I'm not sure it's set in stone.

I'd consider a scouting staff to be part of personnel rather than amenities.

Not so fast, my friend. According to the Times-Picayune's Larry Holder Ryan hasn't been hired and still has to interview. He and Todd Grantham are interviewing soon.
For the record I hate both of these ******* guys and hope they're only trip to New Orleans is for an interview and neither of these two asswipes are inviting back.

**** it I don't want Ryan, he would not build a strong 3-4 and we will have a terrible defence. AGAIN.
Give me Grantham if it's between the two of them but I certainly don't want Ryan !

Ian Rapoport ?@RapSheet
#Saints contacted #49ers to attempt to interview 49ers DBs coach Ed Donatell for their DC job. He's under contract. #49ers blocked interview

With your cap situation and making the switch to a different front, your defense is going to be bad in 2013. That's pretty much guaranteed. That's something you're going to have to accept.

They also blocked him from interviewing with the Bucs last year.
I'm surprised you went after Donatell and not Tomsula.

I know but I want to be a delusional homer and hope for a miracle worker, I realise Grantham is not one but as I said, if it's between the two of them I will have a better time to convince myself with him.

I can see an OK transition
DLine looks like Bunk/Cam Jordan - Hicks - Ellis
OLB Martez Wilson - Romeus/Smith?
ILB Lofton and Vilma
I think that you will need an OLB and one or two CBs and you should be able to transition to being almost as good as you were last year.

Ellis and Vilma are likely gone, Romeus has yet to finish a training camp. Our 3-4 would look like
Jordan - Bunkley - Hicks
Wilson - Lofton - Hawthorne - Galette

Yeah so it's split again, 2 43 systems, and 2 34 systems. It will be interesting to see how the Eagles and Dallas new systems fair, year 1.

I wonder what history tells us about the first year switching from a 3-4 to a 4-3 or vice versa.
I'd imagine the records are not pretty because:
A) The defense is probably pretty bad to need a switch in the first place.
B) They might not have ideal personnel and the incumbent personnel has been coached to the other system.

I will take that adjustment time. I am curious to see how D. Ware does at DE now. Eagles are rebuilding everything. Bob is hurt for the redskins. So this division will be interesting come opening day.
