So Huff is gone. Thoughts? Doesn't anyone care?

His departure is about a year late.

Affeldt is back, signed to a 3 year deal for $6M per season, cheaper than Brandon League's deal with LA. He had 2 great seasons out of his 3 with the Giants and solid left handed relievers are hard to come by. He's earned his cash and a slight raise, keeping him and Lopez as LHP options for late in games.
Time to get Buster signed to a long term deal before he stacks another couple MVPs and only the Yankees can afford him.

Yeah I'm glad Affeldt got a deal done. Heard him on the radio yesterday. Sounded like he was really happy that he got the chance to come back to the Giants.
And Buster is the NL MVP, not shocking.

By the way, seeing as the Giants just won the series shouldn't we have a new thread for the reigning champs?

Well I think it's about time the title be changed.
Angel Pagan is staying with the Giants. Four year deal I believe. Brian Wilson is out in free agency. Who knows what will happen. Apparently he's not happy with the Giants brass. Los Angeles Dodgers said they weren't interested.

I changed it to the current title, but I am no longer team leader. That is on Borat.

Well, I noticed the m***** f****** Ravens Team thread was changed. Grrr....
Oh, this is the SF Giants thread so I guess I can't bring bitter Niners **** in here. Some notes/thoughts on the World Champions from San Francisco:
Glad to see a lot of the young talent in the system actually going to Spring Training. Villalona, Crick (the potential next stud SP to add to the rotation), Panik, Brown, Duval, Hembree and even mini-Boch; Brett Bochy.
They also have some non-roster invitees that I think someone will emerge from to add strength to the pitching staff. To watch: Boof Bonser, Chad Gaudin, Scott Proctor, Ramon Ramirez.
I do think that they may end up signing Brian Wilson to some sort of deal during Spring Training and then putting him on the DL to start the season. I'm glad they didn't give tender him in December, which would have guaranteed him 6.5M but if he hasn't been swooped up yet by someone else, I'd rather they role the dice with keeping him as part of the organization, especially since the closer situation is not 100% solved.
Apparently Babe Panda Ruth is overweight and they are already saying that he needs to catch up on his conditioning. Just hope it isn't a 2010 repeat where he couldn't bend down to get ground balls anymore.
Like their chances this year as Dodgers have talent but need to prove chemistry, D'backs are developing young talent around a team of good, not great players that are gritty gamers and the Padres started to really turn it on last year down the stretch. The Rockies haven't done much and I think they';ll earn the cellar this year due to their lack of pitching but they still have Tulo and CarGo who are two of the best.
