Durant IS the MVP this year, Kyle.

LeBron is shooting 55.5% on the year. That is absolutely insane.
Also, let people stop saying he has no post game. His post game is improving rapidly and is going to ensure his scoring ability for a long time to come.

We may argue all the time in here, but this might be one of the greatest comments I've read in a long time on this site.
Well done, sir. Well done.

Scoring efficiently sure, not doing much else.

You should hope we beat the Bulls in the playoffs then so I don't leave forever!

Durant has a better supporting cast than Lebron. I'd take Westbrook over Wade at this point and the Heat's only other good player is Bosh, while the Thunder have Ibaka, Martin, Sefelosha, etc.

Yeah Lebron doesn't have as much help as Durant.

I mainly meant how horribly he's rebounding and not passing or blocking shots or anything else really. He's good as a bench scoring option if he keeps up the efficiency, though.
Yes Durant is the MVP. He's scoring more points on less shots than LeBron and rebounding about the same while playing less minutes at the 4 than LeBron. He isn't as good of a passer or defender, but the scoring offsets that. It's close that either can be argued, but Durant has just been better this year.

I just don't like how OKC relies so much on the jump shot. I'm not a big fan of jump shooting teams.

Lebron is averaging a whole .3 more shots a game than Durant. Big deal. You can't just throw aside Lebron being a better passer and defender when he has a large advantage in both of those categories (although Durant is definitely improving both those skills.)

Durant is getting a lot better at taking it to the rim though. Leading the league in free throw attempts I think.

Miami hasn't looked all too great this year though and they'd be 4th if they were in the west and are only 1/2 game ahead of the Knicks. Comparing the stats are splitting hairs. The award will most likely go to the best player on the best team.
Even with Lebron's surreal game they barely beat the bobcats.

They take less jump shots than the Knicks (OKC takes a jump shot on 71% of their fg attempts, Knicks 74%) and are still second in the league in free throw attempts. The idea that the Thunder are heavily reliant on the jumper is untrue.

He's still primarily a jump shooter though. It's not really him I'm concerned about, they have no low post presence. You want your 4 to either stretch the floor for spacing or have a post game to open up the arc.

That's my concern with the Knicks. Too many jump shots. That's why I've been saying we really need Stat to give us some scoring bc he brings the ball back in the post. We can't win in the playoffs if Stat doesn't give us that.

True, Durant is probably their best post player too. Starting one of the most useless offensive centers in the game doesn't help things.
But Ibaka can stretch the floor at the 4 position. He's gotten really good with that jumper out to 20 feet or so.

Durant actually makes more shots at the rim per game than Melo despite almost 2 attempts less. Skills.

Perkins is a lousy defensive center these days too, he's too slow to keep up with anyone quick. Keeping him was really pointless/stupid.

No argument here. They need to amnesty him and they should have already done it.

It'll be interesting to see how Drummond develops offensively. Cousins is light years ahead of him as a scorer. Right now it looks like his projection would be a Tyson Chandler type, which is great and all since he is an elite rebounder and potentially an elite defender, but i'm not that huge a fan of guys that can't do dick offensively. Especially when you're over 7ft and have an athletic advantage over everyone.
But yes i understand he's just a kid. Cousins is also only 22.
