1-1 for US-Honduras. I'm not watching because I'm at work, but I'm following along on a live chat and it sounds like the US is lucky to not be losing. Anyone actually watching it?

Went up to get a coffee and ended up watching the end of the Germany game with this French guy in the union. He was so animated, and the game was pretty decent. I kind of love soccer.

Eh, I wouldn't say really good. They are good and better than they are ranked, but they also have a lot of unproven guys on the international level.
That said, they appear to be thoroughly outplaying the US and we will be fortunate to draw. I want to see the Honduras goal because everyone has described it as a beauty and a once in a hundred tries type shot.

Anyway if there is a EPL club that want his own belgian player they should target Dries Mertens, he is just like Eden Hazard and Kevin Mirallas but more likable and so clutch.
Belgium for Premier League domination.

I'd never want the Zlatan on my team, but he's such an amazing character.=

He is hilarious, but i'm not entirely sure theses quotes are true. I really hope they are though. Definitely one of my favorite personalities in soccer.

Welp, Honduras takes a 2-1 lead with about 10 to play. Not a good start in the Hex if it holds, but road losses can be expected.

They really impressed me when they were in the same group as the US in the last round. I really like their chances to get fourth in CONCACAF and hopefully win the playin game.

So yesterday's game was awesome for the NT. Sure Jogi started Gomez because he's a stubborn fool, but in the second half he brought Kroos on for him and the team flashed how dominant they could be with a 4-3-3-0. The defense was sloppy but what more can you expect from a defense that starts Mertesacker in a high line with Howedes playing LB facing a team lead by a player on Ribery's level. Even Lahm, arguably the best FB in the world, got burned by Ribery a few times.
Any way this game highlighted the talents of our best two players. Mesut Ozil and Sami Khedira, Ozil was his usual brilliant self, moving all over the pitch to retain posession and get the ball forward, creating space for others to run in and showing his amazing vision vision with one of the most spectacular assists you'll ever see on Khedira's goal. Sami was all over the pitch, marching up and down the pitch linking the play, his touch on the goal was excellent and he bossed the middle of the field with Ilkay Gundogan. Ilkay was our third best player as he to showed off his excellent technique and intelligence corralling the ball and weighed a beautiful long ball to Mueller for our first goal.
Poldi was non existent again, it's a shame, but if he had worked harder in his career and been born 10 years earlier he'd have made a great second striker in a 4-4-2, just like Gomez he's a good player who doesn't fit in with the talents we've got now. Schurrle's not there either and was disappointing, but he's still very young and having a strong season, between him Draxler and Goetze I think we'll have fine cover for Reus and Mueller.
And the team as a whole became so much more fluid after the kroos substitution. I'd love to see Loew try out the 4-3-3-0 with our full starting lineup against Khazakstan. Would be good to see in a competitive fixture and could be the key to bringing Germany glory in Brazil.

Newcastle setting their sites on ravaging Holland for talent this summer. That's the rumor anyway. Apparently the French are wising up to our tricks. The names rumored as of now are: Toby Alderweireld, Wilfried Bony, and Siem De Jong.

It's beyond me why more teams don't do it. It's worked pretty well for teams like Arsenal in the past.

Well Arsenal hasn't won anything in years ...
But there is plenty of talent in Holland.

Hence why I used the word 'worked'. They had a good run with Dutch strikers.

Toon at White Hart Lane. They always seem to destroy us, so this will probably suck. That said, bring back memories of my favorite goal of all time: that amazing Oba Martins screamer.
