Everyone temper your expectations, I'm hearing it is lacking without the Harmon there. Predictably and regrettably so, but that seems to be the consensus from critics who saw the first few episodes. The new writers were put in an impossible position just the the task of replacing Sorkin on the West Wing, if not harder. I have recently listened to Harmon's podcast, and it is clear that all the characters are parts of himself and the show was so meticulous under his reign.

I'll keep my own counsel there. Critics love Harmon and are expecting to hate it.

I've seen enough. This is terrible. I went in looking to laugh at every second and I've got nothing.

It is trying to reduce Harmon's community to a formula. Be meta ontop of meta, cultural homage, do animations seems to be what they think. Its watchable to me, but im not impressed.

Plus throwing in a popular culture main theme background. This has totally missed.

I read an article comparing the show to a zombie where it kinda looks the same and you have all the characters, but the guts of the show are dead. Seems about right to me.

Eh I feel like some are jumping on this way too quickly. The spirit was there in this episode, the laughs were just to far in between. Harmon had plenty of episodes like that as well. It felt like pretty classic Community to me, I'm holding out that this show will hit its stride again.

But they're parodying Hunger Games, and THAT'S what they come up with? Come on.

Wouldn't compete with the best Community episodes, but its in par with many episodes we've seen in the past. My main complaint was the Abed TV part, but that was just for this particular episode. Still anticipating the rest of this season.

I had a meeting during the episode. Anyone know where I could watch it online?

See and I guess since it really wasn't the main storyline of the episode I thought it was just fine. Had we not known that it was going to be in the episode I'm sure our expectations of it wouldnt have been as high.
Agreed that it wasn't a hilarious episode or one of the best ones to date, but I think it showed potential.

I liked it. Not the best we've seen community, but it was solid and gives me hope that the new guys will be able to find their stride.

We've seen a ton of episodes like this in the past. It might not have been a top 5 episode but it still felt a lot like Community to me. Certainly not the best but it had its moments and it was a solid episode.

This is pretty much exactly how I felt about it. Ton of Harmon episodes in the past felt exactly like this. The spirit was there, hopefully it progresses and we hit those four to five really amazing episodes throughout the course of the season like theres been in the past. I saw someone else mention this, if no one knew Harmon wasn't on board we'd just be saying this was a subpar episode of Community.

I was more thrown off by the look of the show. Something about the shots/lighting was.... different.

Also, one thing to remember is that the first episodes of every season are generally among the worst for whatever reason.

Id rather wait for a few episodes than to see if it is bad or not. They tied in on a lot of over the summer stuff. Will be interesting to see them trying to go after a story line
