The 2014 Recruiting Thread
Just for my beau BF51.
But really because the cycle pretty much starts now, and the Vols have like 18 bajillion beastly legacies in this class.
Go!

South Florida is beyond crazy next year. Time for Al Golden, James Coley and Mario Crystal Ball to lock things down completely.
Sony Michel (RB), Dalvin Cook (RB/ATH), Ermon Lane (WR) and KC McDermott (OT) should all be 5*. Tons of OL and DL talent in the state.

Thanks sweet cheeks.
Minnesota has a 4* commit. I believe there are only like 5 of these, so we win recruiting.

Vic Wharton is a legacy and a 4* athlete already committed to the Vols. Could be either a corner or a slot receiver. Neiko Creamer is also a Vol legacy at WR that is pretty much committed. Should make it official at junior day next weekend.
It'll be interesting to follow Jalen Hurd's recruitment as well. A homegrown 5* runningback? Just what the Vols need right now.

Rutgers has Joshua Hicks from already committed and he looks to be a good one.
Unfortunately for us Jabril Peppers who will be a top 5 recruit is 95% leaving the state. I think he ends up at Stanford.

Bo knows. And that is why this generations version has already verbally committed to Alabama. Next up Marlon Humphrey at some point. Plus the Tide are also Da'Shawn Hand's top 5 as well.

Virginia QB Wilton Speight committed to Michigan. It sounds like Michigan is only taking one QB, so I'm a bit surprised Speight was offered this early with more highly rated guys interested.

Really hoping we can snag Drake Harris; however, I imagine that won't play out until this time next year though.
Damon Webb is a nice start.

We already have 3 big time OT recruits committed. We will see how this next season goes.

Budda Baker is pretty much the cream of the Washington class. Likes U-Dub, but Mora's ties with Bellevue will be a huge factor too. Hopefully we can pull him here. Best S prospect since Taylor Mays but nothing like him.

Penn State has 1 commit so far and that's from Mark Allen, RB from DeMatha. O'Brien said he'll work like Danny Woodhead in his offense.
As of now, I can see the Lions landing two players in Sam Mustipher and Thaddeus Snodgrass. Those are the only two that I have seen Penn State being the favorites so far.
Also, Western PA is pretty solid this year with a lot of guys who I believe could be impact guys in college.

I followed recruiting very closely back in 2004 and especially 2005 but have kind of lost track of doing that. What would you guy suggest as the best method to following recruiting closely? Websites? Twitter?

The-mainboard.com, find your team thread and you'll have access to pretty much everything on Rivals, Scout, 247, and ESPN Insider.

Hopefully once they get Ermon Lane's accurate measurements they'll bump him up the 20 or so spots to where he should be. 6-3 190 with insane speed who destroyed all of Miami last year.

Stanford and Ohio State have a little bit of a lead than the other 3 at this point. It's going to be interesting to see what position he finally ends up at also.
