Speed Walking falls under Athletics. Dressage falls under equestrian. Trampoline falls under gymnastics.

Wrestling and baseball get the Ax because its harder to get a full commitment to wrestling then some other sports. It's stupid, it really is. They need to get rid of Boxing because of how corrupt it is, take it away and bring it back when you find a way to solve it. I share the same views as the rest of you. I think its a joke they would drop it but it doesn't surprise me one bit. The Olympics is soooo corrupt, wrestling probably wasn't "paying their dues" or something stupid like that.

Can't say I watched a single minute of the Wrestling at the last Olympics so it's hard to say that I'll miss it, but the traditionalist in me thinks it is a shame they are getting rid of one of the pillars of the Olympics.

Don't really care for either addition either, Rugby and Golf are both pretty well worldwide or at least represent all the continents which I guess is nice.

I'm not sure why they need to remove events to add new ones though.

Are people really complaining that baseball isn't an Olympic sport? People do realize that the Olympics are an international event, not an American one, right? Baseball may be more international than football, but compared to the other Olympic sports, its not truly international. Baseball only has a following in North America, some Latin American countries and a select few East Asian countries. Africa, Europe, the rest of Asia, absolutely nothing. Should we make cricket an Olympic sport as well?

Pretty awful decision. True speed walking is under athletics, but it is the Olympics... it is all althletics?!?

What I never got was why they had judo karate and tae kwan do? Those three have a huge amount of overlap, much more than wrestling and them.

If anything, I see an eventual move to some sort of MMA bracket.

Crap if I was running things, you could have a 'Comabatives' grouping like track and field. basically a combination of the 1v1 sports. You get the martial arts, throw in fencing, maybe wrestling, MMA etc.

They should just go Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter style and have one fighting tournament. Anyone can enter and it doesn't matter what your fighting style is. You could get boxer vs. sumo, wrestler vs. karate, etc.

What do you mean by relevant? Because in my opinion, the Olympics are still extremly popular. Citizens still get hyped up watching people they've never heard of compete in sports they never watch just because they are wearing the flag.

I'm not even a wrestling fan but I feel like it is rediculus to get rid of an original sport from the the Olympics. If its really a viewership and money thing that is incredibly sad and not what they Olympics should be about.

The Olympics are incredibly relevant. I'd say its probably the 2nd greatest sporting event in the world after the world cup. Everyone one I know loves the Olympics and can't get enough of it.
