Strange case of missing woman Elisa Lam.

There is a young woman from Canada that was visiting Los Angeles that has vanished under a mysterious circumstance. I found about this a couple of days ago, although the case is apparently a month old almost. A new aspect has occurred in the last few days though that makes it seem more like one of those old Unsolved Mysteries segments that was broadcast back in the day.

The disappearance of Elisa Lam is verging on a month old, and it seems that the media is only starting to heighten coverage of her case recently. That's likely because of the release of strange surveillance footage of the missing woman, which showed her behaving very bizarrely. Central Coast News detailed the video on Feb. 15, 2013, but there are also new claims that the woman might have been spotted in Los Angeles.

Officials released it to the media on Feb. 15, 2013, and media (as well as public) interest seems to have spiked in this case. As you can see, Elisa appears to be acting erratically. At first it seems as though she may be hiding from someone, but at the same time she continually looks out of the doorway of the elevator and even steps into clear view a few times. This doesn't look like the behavior of someone who is hiding from someone else.

UPDATE: Apparently the LA Police found a body in one of the water tanks of the hotel that fits the description of Elisa Lam.

A body believed to be missing Vancouverite Elisa Lam has been found on the roof of the downtown Los Angeles hotel where she was last seen.

The 21-year-old University of British Columbia student has been missing since January 31st – and was last seen at the Cecil Hotel, near the city's notorious skid row.

LAPD Officer Diana Figueroa told The Associated Press officers responded to the roof just after 10 a.m. Tuesday. The body is a woman in her 20s, but a positive identification by the coroner is required, officials said.

The body was discovered in one of the hotel’s four water tanks by a maintenance worker after investigating complaints about low water pressure, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Something else. The weird thing about that hotel is that there have been a couple of unfortunate incidents there in the past including someone being strangled to death in their room and someone else committing suicide by jumping from a room and also killing another pedestrian below in the process. Apparently it might also be haunted according to one person that stayed there.

Well, the video of the elevator was doctored. Look at the top comments in the video. Totally agree.

Yeah I thought of that possibility as well as it seemed like when the door first actually closes there is a skipped frame or something inconsistent with the footage. And someone probably had to know about the water tanks being located on the top of the roof, a perfect place to hide a body.

Can elevator doors be controlled remotely, by maintenance or security? Do they have a master control switch that can open a door or prevent one from closing?

Did she push some combination of buttons that made the door stay open until after the timestamp irregularities?

There seems to be some strange behavior with the elevator, and I don't believe in ghosts.

Another aspect. A lot of water tanks on top of building like that usually have a lock and/or alarm. So the alarm didn't sound. Maybe it's been ages since the alarm had gone off or was replaced though. If it was locked only someone that worked there would have been able to open the hatch. It would have really been hard for someone to carry her and put her into that water tank though (unless she wasn't in one piece). Maybe she did wander onto the roof and slip inside the tank if she was able to get access into it. Perhaps she "thought" someone was following her. I'm still not dismissing the possibility that she was crazy or on something. However since the footage was doctored I'm leaning towards foul play. I do wonder why she was traveling alone though. And her reasons for visiting California weren't even clear. She was supposed to stop in Santa Cruz. What the hell was she doing alone in that part of Los Angeles?

Bos will tell you as well, the perfect place to hide a body is one that will never be found.

On the serious side, those are some strange coincidences for sure. It will be interesting to see what the investigators find out about this case.

she had a mental health illness. since her body's been decomposing in water for over a week, idk if they can conduct a proper comprehensive autopsy on her.
