Well luckily for Barca, they'll be going back home, and three goals is certainly attainable for them. That being said, this reminds me of the Chelsea tie last year, where Milan can now simply sit back and park the bus, which was already effective this game.

Milan don't have the backline to hold up the way Chelsea did if barca show up. Great result, but I think we'll see a great performance from barca at the Nou Camp.
PS lol at Galatasaray failing to get the win home to schalke, with the way schalke ripped open their backline they're going to have a very tough time getting through in Gelsenkirchen.

WOW what a goal from Suarez. FK from about 25 yards out.

So apprarently Jacksonville Jaguar fans have adopted Newcastle as their preferred EPL team and have taken to calling themselves Jagpies.

Makes me laugh how every time Shelvey gets the ball the Anfield crowds passion just DIES. He's so terrible and everyone knows it.

I love Czechoslovakian teams that have nothing but Czechoslovaks. They just dominated this series.

That Hannover-Anzhi was epic, with the snow coming down Hannover did everything to come just short of taking the tie.
Good day for Russia's big 2, who are amongst the favorites to take home the EL crown.

Seemed like a really exciting day in Europa, upset that I missed it. Steaua and Ajax still duking it out, even. Spurs and Chelsea both getting through at 90 minutes, Atletico and Liverpool both dropping out. Tottenham - Inter should be fun in the next round.
Russian teams definitely looking exciting. Newcastle gets Anzhi.

Rubin is pretty good too, although I doubt they go all the way.

I'm still waiting for Rubin to implode. They have a manageable matchup this next round, but that'll be it for them.

If Newcastle field a strong team it should be a really close tie with Anzhi. Our first 11 can play with anybody still in the tournament, just a matter of if we'll play them.

Why wouldn't you? It's not like you're pushing for top 7.

If we aren't totally safe in the prem, we definitely won't play our best 11.

Nice to see Wigan dominating some lesser teams on the road. This was a big game at the bottom of the table.
I'll be interested to see how City comes out against Chelsea tomorrow. Been pretty uninspired in the prem over the past month.

Pretty good game from Newcastle today.....should be able to make a push for the top 10. I'll consider the season a win if we finish in the top half and make the final 8 in Europe....anything else is gravy.

The borussia battle was really interesting. Due to Lewa's suspension Klopp played Gotze as a false nine, and for the first half they bossed Gladbach despite also having to start the technically limited Grosskreutz and the inexperienced Leitner as a 10, a position he hasn't really played much as a pro. After the half Hummels was replaced by Santana due to injury, and Dortmund lost their drive as Gladbach settled in and start to put together some good bits of play, driven forward by 19 year old Amin Younes's quickness, clever passing, and Reus like ability to just drift past defenders. Ultimately a 1-1 draw that leaves Dortmund's experience playing strikerless as intriguing so far, they dominated Frankfurt despite being a man down, and bossed it against Gladbach for a half, next week will be very interesting.
Plus this puts more pressure on Loew to keep playing with a strikerless formation, be it using Gotze as a false nine in our current 4-2-3-1, or sticking Kroos in the middle to go with something more 4-3-3-0y.
