You can make an argument for Paul George? He's pretty clearly better at this point.

Alright whatever, **** you all, Paul George is better but John Wall sure as hell is not, healthy or otherwise. Cousins is one of the best and most talented bigs in the league.

Wall has turned the Wiz completely around since he came back. Cousins is absolutely not one of the best bigs in the league at this point. He has the talent to get there but he isn't yet.

I still think he can be a decent, pass first backup guard. And you give regular minute to Beasley, aka one of the worst players in basketball. No need to rag on Kendall.

I really wanna know what happened with Beasley. Coming in he had the talent and production to be a pretty damn good NBA player, then he just stopped giving a ****. Wonder if it's the pot.

He didn't give a **** at Kansas State either.
Riley was looking for anyone worthy of taking over him and he just ended up having to go with him at #2.

Right, he took him because despite the fact that he didn't give a **** he was undoubtedly the most productive player in CBB and had a ton of potential. It's just funny that the Heat drafted Beasley when that was a STACKED draft.
Derrick Rose went first, then the Heat took Beasley over Mayo, Russ, KLove, Gallo, Eric Gordon, Bropez, Hibbert, Iblocka, JJ Hickson, Batum, Ryan Anderson, Javale McGee, Jason Thompson, Omar Asik.. damn.

In the end, it didnt matter with the exception of Rose because anyone they took they would have had to get rid of before his FA plan 2 years ago.
Rose and Dwade though would have been pretty sweet in its own right.

This is a true statement.
But Cousins is also maddening because he can be so much more of a stud.

MetSox, I love you bro but I have to disagree with you here. Getting to the line is most definitely a skill. It is most often an extension of other skills such as speed, quickness, power in the post, etc. However, it is clearly a repeatable skill.

Maddening to me only because he's stuck on a **** team with a **** coach. Smart is absolutely using him the wrong way. His shot attempts are down (though his fg% slightly improved, with a pretty big improvement in his ft shooting) due to the fact that he's used to facilitate the offense. He can do it, yes, but that's not using him to the best of his abilities.
I have no ******* idea how anyone in their right mind would prefer to use Thompson on the block and Cousins on the elbow, than the other way around. Only Keith Not So Smart.

I see getting to the FT line as more of a result from other skills.

If you had Kevin Love, you'd have absolutely no reason to try and bring in Chris Bosh.

You guys keep saying this like passing isn't an extension of court vision and basketball IQ, rebounding isn't an extension of motor, size, physicality, and athleticism, etc.
Most skills are combinations of other skills.

This drives me crazy to no end. I can't understand moving Cousins to the perimeter. It just doesn't make sense.

raiderz is on to what i'm saying. Again, this is a petty discussion and something i'm not adamant about others disagreeing with me on, but i see it as a result of you doing other things. There's a pattern here, that's attacking the basket and playing in the post. You don't attack the basket with the intention of drawing a foul, or you make your play at the rim with the intention of getting that whistle call. It's just something that comes with the territory of how you play, and your status as an NBA player.

I guess one could make that argument, but I fail to see how that negates the value of being able to get to the FT line.
