I want my returner back there who is a threat to score. I loved Percy returning.

Percy Harvin is officially a Seahawk. And the full trade terms are now known.
The Vikings have announced the deal, which will send a first-round pick (25th overall) to Minnesota, a seventh-round pick in 2013, and a third-rounder in 2014.
Previously, the 2014 pick was not yet known, described generally as a mid-round pick.
That mid-round pick is a third-rounder.

Never had 1,000 yards rec, Never had 10 or more Td's, Has missed games for many reasons and split a locker room already.
Is he a great return man yes, but the Hawks had one already. For as good as Harvin is as a return man he needs to be that good as a WR for this contract and trade to work out for the Hawks.

Obviously the missed games are a concern, but he's been a great when on the field. In the 16 games prior to injuring his ankle:
112 receptions/ 155 targets (72.3%), 1258 yards, 11.2 yards per catch, 9 TD

Harvin's deal
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ver-six-years/
Quote:
Thus, the total average is $11.16 million. In new money (i.e., $67 million less the $2.775 million over five years), Harvin’s average annual haul is $12.845 million.
He gets a $12 million signing bonus, paid in full by the end of 2013 in a state that has no income tax.
The base salaries are $2.5 million in 2013 (fully guaranteed), $11 million in 2014 (guaranteed for injury for now, fully guaranteed on fifth day of the 2014 waiver period), $10.5 million in 2015, $9.9 million in 2016, $9.95 million in 2016, and $11.15 million in 2017.
Thus, $14.5 million is fully guaranteed, with another $11 million guaranteed fully after the 2013 season. The total guarantee, then, is $25.5 million.
He also gets $36 million over the first three years of the deal.
|
in average annual salary, Harvin is now the 5th highest paid WR in the NFL

Profootballtalk.com reports Percy Harvin's new Seahawks deal is worth $67 million over six seasons, with only $14.5 million fully guaranteed.
Another $11 million is guaranteed for injury, but this is a smaller deal than Harvin was probably expecting. It's actually worth just slightly less than Dwayne Bowe's in annual average, making Harvin -- for now -- the NFL's fifth highest paid receiver behind Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Mike Wallace, and Bowe. And the low guaranteed total protects the Seahawks. Seattle gave up a draft-pick haul for Harvin, but this looks like a great deal for the club.

Sounds like something the best front office in the league would pull off.
Well done. Well done.
And did anyone see the press conference? I've never seen Percy Harvin smile before ever. He was beaming. All he talked about was Russell Wilson the whole time.
He clearly HATED Ponder.
His two biggest gripes were his contract and QB and those are no longer issues.
Some guys have the personality of a malcontent and his history shows signs of that. But if this happiness leads to some maturity (remember, he's 24), it's scary.
A lot of people are commenting on this trade in the same breath as the Boldin deal. For next year, both players project to make an impact on a contender, yes.
However, Harvin is now a Seahawk for as long as Russell Wilson wants. He'll be Wilson's go-to guy as both develop for years to come. You want your franchise QB to have a No. 1 weapon. Harvin is it for the long haul.
In the words of the 79th best free agent on the market,
CAN'T WAIT.

I'm not sad to see Percy go. He's a ******* ass hole, even if he is super-talented. Good riddance, just happy we got a first in return. Now let's use it to hold the Giants ransom for Victor Cruz!

The more underrated part of this signing is how Harvin provides Seattle a new wrinkle for their read option package.
He's a turd, but if they can keep that turd in check it can work. They gave up a lot though.
I hate Harvin, but he's talented. Seattle is the best team in the NFC as far as I'm concerned. SF might be #2.
I strongly believe that if Seattle beat Atlanta they would have went to the SB.
